What Causes Low Creatinine Levels In Urine
Urine is the product of the kidneys, which is produced to eliminate the waste products of metabolism, manage body fluid balance, &maintain acid-base balance. The blood is first filtered by the kidneys, and the composition of the resulting fluid is then altered depending on the body's needs. It is composed of mostly water, and breakdown products from blood cells impart ...Read more

What can cause sudden higher levels of creatinine in urine 133. normal to doubling in less than 3 months. No protien or particles in urine. Not sick.
I am having serious problems passing urine drug screens. My creatinine levels are constantly too low and the test is considered diluted. The highest level I have ever had is 86. All passing tests have normally and consistently been between 20 & 30. But I

Creatinine levels consistently low for adult life, typical range is. 48 to. 52- All kidney, urine, blood tests normal- any reason for concern?
I took a drug screen and it came back diluted. I did not tamper with the test by drinking a lot of water and wondered if my creatinine levels are low and if so what can I do to increase the levels in my urine.?
See your pcp: Verifying that a urine sample is "human urine" includes checking the temperature, ph, specific gravity and concentration of creatinine. Disease states can cause an exceptionally low creatinine level so having your pcp do further tests is of value. The creatinine concentration tested for is rather wide and permits a quite low level as normal. So if you are lower it is worth looking into. ...Read more
BUN of 10 with creatinine of 1.05 year ago BUN of 12 creatinine. 89. Now have low bun/creatine level and GFR of 58. Urine and all other lab's normal.
My sodium is a little low 135mmol/L, can that be caused by too much water intake and poor urine output? Creatinine and BUN ok. Thanks
? low: This is in the normal range for an adult. I wouldn't consider it low. Levels of 130-134 would be slightly low, 125-130 worrisome and ...Read more

My friend is 52 and her creatinine level is so high that sugar is in urine. She is also experiencing rapid weight loss. What is the cause and what to do?

I have an enlarged spleen, low ast/sgot, low bun/creatinine, high chlorine level, low lymphocytes, low calcium, and trace of urine leukocyte. Thoughts?
If you do not have any symptoms, there is no point in chasing laboratory results.

Female white age 42. Primary hemochromatosis has caused stage 3cirrhosis. Now a urine test shows a creatintine level of 222.3. Should I be concerned?
Yes: The units are micromoles / liter, right? I'm really sorry that your hemochromatosis led to cirrhosis but the phlebotomy treatments you are receiving should at least partly reverse it. Your physician will work you up for the cause of what may be mild renal insufficiency. Some people like yourself get an IgA nephropathy secondary to liver disease; there are other possibilities. ...Read more
Not much: Urine creatinine is concentrated with dehydration, but is always higher than blood creatinine except in severe kidney desease. The urine creatinine is much higher than blood in a normal state. The importance of urine creatinine is in the calculation of creatinine clearance and fractional excretions. This requires interpretation by your physician. ...Read more
Urine creatinine: Our corresondent is talking about urine creatinine. This may be high because the urine is concentrated (i.e., the person drank little water) or the person is well-muscled. It's not a cause of concern. ...Read more
No such thing: We don't publish a reference range as people would worry. The more muscle mass you have, the more creatinine you put out daily. The level in turn is also a function of how much water you drink -- whether the urine is concentrated or dilute. And there's no illness for which increased or decreased production is a marker. If you do find a published range, ignore it. ...Read more

How to keep creatinine levels above 20 mg/dl? I do not use drugs but need a drug urine test 3 times a week. The level of creatinine must be over 20 mg/dl. I changed nothing in my diet and recently had a level of 14.1 and was told I diluted. I am worrie
The most common reason for low creatinine is that you drink a lot of fluids. It is not abnormal to have low creatinine, it's just that the people doing the lab test want the urine concentrated enough that it can pick up trace amounts of the drugs they are testing for. Dilute urine= less of drug in urine sample. Some people have a medical condition that makes them unable to concentrate their urine (low levels of adh (vasopressin), (vasopressin) anti-diuretic hormone) release from the pituitary gland.
If you don't have this condition, then on test days avoid liquids (sips ok, glasses not ok) until after the urine test. Best results would be to avoid liquids 4 hours before test. If creatinine is still low, you might want to see an endocrinologist to evaluate for low adh (vasopressin). If the doctor can validate this, then your employer can't legally hassle you about your low creatinine. ...Read more
Strong kidneys!: It sounds like your kidneys are working normally. That's what they're supposed to do -- clear metabolic products like creatinine from the blood, dumping it into the urine. The urine level might be especially high if you haven't been drinking lots of fluids lately, i.e. if the urine is relatively concentrated. In any case, this is a good sign, nothing to worry about. ...Read more
Sr creatinine (0.91mg/dl). All other urine analysis is normal. Specific gravity is low 1.005. What is the significance of this.
Urine specific grav: Specific gravity is a measure of the "other" things in your urine besides plain water, and can include electrolytes, proteins, and sugars or other chemicals. The fact that your level is very low would indicate that you have been drinking lots of fluids so the urine is dilute, or your kidneys won't concentrate the urine by excreting electrolytes. Sr. Creatinine should check nl range for lab. ...Read more
My aunt who lives in canada has a creatinine level of 151 and eGFR 33. And for the past two weeks has been passing blood with her urine.?
Low GFR: That is a very high creatinine level (not good) and a low GFR (not good either) + blood in the urine (not good). She needs to see a doctor (nephrologist if possible) to determine why this is happening (which could be many possibilities). Kidneys can be damaged very quickly for a variety of reasons, so hopefully your aunt will not delay getting a diagnosis! ...Read more
