What Causes Low Blood Pressure And Fast Pulse
Hypotension is defined as "low blood pressure". Blood pressure is measured as two numbers and expressed as systolic blood pressure (sbp) / diastolic blood pressure (dbp). The sbp is the pressure that is generated when the heart squeezes. Dbp occurs when the heart relaxes. 120/70 is considered normal in adults. Less than 100/60 (of either number) can ...Read more
Many things: This is a problem that requires a face-to-face meeting with your doctor. In that meeting, your doctor will listen to you, perform a throrough examination and possibly order labs or other tests. Based on this information, he/she will be able to tell you what's wrong and what to do about it.
I always have low blood pressure but have high pulse (usually at least 95 at resting) what is possible cause? Should I be concerned?
Not unless dizzy: Generally, the blood pressure rises with age sometimes resulting in hypertension. The heart rate of 95 is on the faster side for resting, but may still be normal for you. Make sure you are not dehydrated. Symptoms of heat intolerance, dry skin, hair loss, can suggest high thyroid. Your doctor may want to check this. Go to er if dizziness, short of breath, fatigue, and/or passing out.
Went to the ER with fast pulse low blood pressure. Was their CBC test sufficient enough to rule our sepsis?
InfectDoesn't=sepsis: Sepsis is at the severe end in a broad range of infection sequelae. A CBC can be quite telling when we are looking for infection, but the physical exam is just as if not more important when looking at a septic patient. They didn't rule-out the diagnosis just based on the CBC, they used it as an added piece of information...another piece in the puzzle to explain your symptoms.
This could be a sign: Of many different things. It is nearly impossible to determine your concerns over the internet. Seek a health care professional for evaluation of your symptoms and concerns.
Bp/pulse: First thing is consult your doctor to be evaluated to see if there are pathologic reasons for these which require treatment. We treat people not numbers. If your Doc finds reason (s) you should be treated, ask for an explanation of why and what the treatment is expected to do.
Go to the E.R.!!: Many things can cause a heart rate of 180 and low blood pressure of 80/60, unfortunately none of them are good. Arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation or flutter and supra-ventricular tachycardia can cause hypotension. Other conditions would be significant dehydration or anemia. You need to get this checked out immediately! If it is only sporadic, get to the E.R. Immediately when it occurs!
Why do I wake up in the middle of the night, and have low blood pressure when I check? Tonight 91/52, pulse 56. Concerned.
I was out all day and exposed to direct sun for 4 hrs, I fainted twice after that and had low blood pressure and pulse, am I badly sick?!
Nothing by itself: Pulse and BP are just numbers, and mean almost nothing in isolation. More important is the patient...Are they sick? Well? Dizzy? Dehydrated? Feel great? Just had a heart attack? Granted, if a pulse or BP are too low, then doctors might be concerned no matter how they looked, but more important is the "rest of the story".
29/f I've had extensive heart testing over the year and last month all turns out fine. Why do I have a weak pulse in the morning? Low blood pressure?
Pulse=perception of: blood pressure which stretches artery walls as each heart contraction pushes out blood filling & stretching the arteries. This stretch is felt as a pulse. Most medical testing is of low value & for? $, esp. When people do not pay directly (i.e. via $ accumulators calling themselves "insurance") which routinely? Es quality &? es all costs. Why? Cardizem: Cardizem is a calcium channel blocker that lowers BP & hr; it does not increase hr.
Multiple things: Heart failure, adrenal insufficiency, unstable cardiac arrthymias (abnormal rhythms), sepsis with septic shock, neurogenic shock, cardiogenic shock, and most commonly dehydration. It depends how low it is, if low normal and you are not symptomatic you shouldn't get it higher. Smaller patients tend to have lower blood pressures as a whole.
Blood pressure is a measurement of the force placed on the blood vessels and is comprised of the "systolic" pressure (the top number on a blood pressure meter) which is the peak pressure when the heart is pumping, and the "diastolic" pressure (the bottom number on a blood pressure meter) which is the pressure during the resting phase ...Read more
