Stress affects most people in some way. Acute (sudden, short-term) stress leads to rapid changes throughout the body. Can stress and or sinus infection cause itchy skin? What do they like? It start itching and when I scratch it a bump appears and after few minutes disapea
Can make worse: Stress can make this worse. You probably have dermographism. See dermatologist to discuss cause and treatment options.
I have had itchy skin for quite some time. When I scratch, I get raised welts that aren't red. Sometimes they are parallel lines. Stress?
Dermographism: Twitchy mast cells. A physical urticaria, not an allergy. Skin reacts to stroking. A topical steroid, probably prescription strength, to reduce itch will reduce scratching, thus reduce welting. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and Atarax are very sedating and therefor appropriate only at bedtime. The best antihistamine for this is usually Zyrtec [cetirizine] which is sometimes used at 2 or 3 a day if 1 is not effective.See 1 more doctor answer

What causes darkening itchy skin. Seems like it started a year ago after vacation in miami. Hair also thinning and dry. Any suggestions?
Darkening of skin: Yes virginia sun exposure in southery climes can darken and dry out skin. A major endocrine problem affecting the skin and hair is adrenal insufficiency. See a dermatologist: It is difficult to make a proper diagnosis since I am not there to see the condition. I recommend seeing a dermatologist so that they can make a proper diagnosis and give you something to get rid of the condition or relieve symptoms.
