Could some sort of venous insufficiency cause hyperpigmentation, intermittent flushing on face and neck? Also puffiness, that's worse in the morning.

Could some sort of venous insufficiency cause hyperpigmentation, intermittent flushing on face and neck? Also puffiness, that's worse in the morning.

No: venous insufficiency refers to loss of venous valve function in veins usually saphenous in legs. This causes varicose veins which when inflamed induce phlebitis of leg veins and deposition of pigmentation in lower legs, the sign of post phlebitis syndrome. This to the best of my knowledge does not occur in the jugular veins of the head and neck, ...Read more

What could cause a burning flushing feeling up neck to head? My shoulders are also very sore for no known reason.

Muscle spasm: You may have spasm of neck & shoulder muscles, possibly by exercise or work overuse, tension, bad posture, or poor sleep. Start with therapeutic massage focused on those areas; see if that helps. If uncomfortable sensations (lightening-like or burning for example) shoot from your neck & shoulder to fingers, then you may have nerve injury, which calls for clinician examination. I've started taking magnesium and vit B6 tablets and have since had two spells of dry flushing on face, arms and chest. Could the tabs cause this?

Very unlikely: When given IV magnesium can cause a warm flushing sensation deep within, not on the skin, but I've never heard of this happening with oral magnesium as one doesn't get a high level in the blood at once. B6 will not cause this. The only vitamin that causes flushing is b3 in the Niacin form (not as niacineamide) so this is almost certainly a coincidence unless it's an unusual reaction to excipients. ...Read more

Will 50mg prednisone cause hot flushed face 5day course taking with cefuroxime for bronchial infection is this dangerous and need visit to dr again?

Prednisone: The use of corticosteroids in bronchitis may be problematic, and is a clinical judgement call by the doctor seeing you. It can cause your flushed face and other potential complications. Since acute bronchitis is so seldom bacterial (>95% viral) am not sure why you are being treated with antibiotics either. Yes, you might want to visit with your doctor or get a second opinion from another. ...Read more
