Any time I take any penicillin derived antibiotic I start having severe diarrhea and vomiting. This started only few months ago! Is this allergy?

Possibly: Your body could be adjusting to the changes in hormones due to the birth control and this may cause some bowel symptoms. It may also be that you have a viral infection in the gut causing the symptoms and it's just coincidence that you are having a period at the same time. You'll have to see how your symptoms go over the next few months on the pill. ...Read more

How can I treat my baby's diarrhea and vomiting?

How can I treat my baby's diarrhea and vomiting?

Fluids!: The whole answer is fluids. There is no medicine that you can obtain (the er has a couple at hand) that stop vomiting. If your child gets gastroenteritis (stomach flu), the only thing you can do is try to keep up with the fluid loss. Yes: No oral medicine works if you vomit it up. How long absorption takes varies some with gastric emptying time and when you are having GI issues, this can be prolonged. It is safest in this setting to be sure to use a backup method until you are in your next package and the nausea, vomiting and diarrhea have resolved. Hope this helps. ...Read more
