Dentist, now!: What you are calling a cut may be just that, but may also be any of multiple lesions or may be gum disease. See your Dentist ASAP for differential diagnosis and treatment. Depending on cause, referral to Periodontist or to Oral Surgeon may be in order. Until you see Dentist temporary relief from 1 200mg Advil (ibuprofen) 4x/day w food or liquids, rinse w salt water, dab Orabase-B onto area w Q-Tip.

Cuts? With blood?: Or just "crevices? " if there's blood, see your dentist asap. (well, you could wait until monday if they've been there your whole life!) if no blood, then likely just a normal variation in 2-5% of people called "fissured tongue" that does not require treatment. My daughter fell and split her tongue open it's a nasty cut. I want to know will it heal properly, will her tongue go back to it's normal look?

Yes, but scar.: Tongues usually heal really well unless the cut went all the way through at one of the edges leaving an unattached piece which should be stitched together pronto. Otherwise, it will be swollen for more than a month and she should only be eating baby foods and nothing hot or spicy. Dehydration can become a problem if she's not drinking. Milkshakes or ensure can provide nutrition.

How to get the white color off of my tongue? & how to make a open cut on my tongue heal faster?

White patch: White patch could be simple plaque which you can clean by a tongue scraper or a tooth brush. It can also be serious like a yeast infection. First, I would get it checked and then follow the advise of your dentist. There are also mouth rinses that can be prescribed to help with healing of a cut or sore in the mouth.

Left side of the tongue has irritated tastebuds and scratches like cuts that cause pain but are not open sores. Also have tingly sensation. Why???

Ans: Well what have you done? Did you eat hot or spivey foods or scrape the tongue on something you put into your mouth. This area is very vascular and will resolve fast but stop irritating the tongue. Be careful what you put into your mouth

Dry mouth?: Sound like your mouth is very dried. It could be of several reason: 1) diabetes, 2) sjogren syndrom or dry mouth syndrom, 3) stress, 4) using heat during winter, need humidifier... Check with your dentist for definitive diagnosis. Palliative treatment included good oral hygiene to prevent superinfection and plenty of fluid to prevent dehydration.
