Probably allergy: Nahsea and vomiting can be from a virus you may have picked up during less than ideal hygienic condition surrounding food and beverages consumed whike traveling. OTC meds may suffice for now but if you experience fever and diarrhea, or a rash appears, pl. consult a physician for proper diagnosis and treatment needed. ...Read more

Acute laryngitis may result, but watch out for chronic hoarseness, throat clearing, airway spasms, cough, bronchitis, an asthma-type presentation, & even a higher risk of throat cancer. Mgt: I would suggest a speech and swallow study, and evaluation. There may be a problem in the coordination of swallowing which makes you prone to aspiration. I would also suggest keeping a food diary, noting the types of fluids and liquids which trigger the cough. A virtual inbox consultation may be arranged as well. Could be reflux: this can assume Jim is coming with reflux. You would be wise to discuss this with your physician. You may be advised to see a gastroenterologist to help confirm this diagnosis. You should have s chest x-ray or other imaging to see if there are any chronic lung problems from reflux. Sinus infection: I'm suspicious that you may have developed a bacterial sinus infection following your cold. The mucus which drains from the sinuses will cause you to cough and it may be worse when you lie down. Eating can also increase drainage from the sinuses. You should see your physician. ...Read more
