Cipro (ciprofloxacin) not it.: The Cipro (ciprofloxacin) that you are taking would not be the cause of the tooth pain. Get the tooth pain checked by your dentist.

I have bronchitis when I was young. I am smoking. And my recent X-ray found calcific granuloma on my upper right lung. What could cause my granuloma?

TB: The most likely cause would be healed tuberculosis in which case you should have a positive TB skin test or blood test such as quantiferon TB gold test. If one of these is positive at your age wou would need treatment for latent tuberculosis.

I have trouble swallowing but not all the time. Sometimes I really have a hard time swallowling and other x no problem. I had CT scan show small calcific densities in right lobe of thyroid gland. Could this be the cause even though I don't kno what the ct

Need evaluation: There are many possible causes for your current symptoms. Although the ct showed "small calcified densities in the thyroid", it still might not be the cause for your difficulty swallowing. The next step would be a thyroid u/s to see if these "densities" are in a nodule and to see how many nodules & how big they are. Get the ct result, sit down with your doc and discuss the next step of evaluation. ...Read more

My dtr was dx'd w/bulging l. Discs. History of calcified dental roots, 2 kidney stones-removed. Has 2 new stones. Who to see re: calcium deposits in body?

Endocrinologist: I would agree with dr. Balogun. Calcium levels in the body are very tightly regulated. As a dentist, the calcified root part doesn't worry me as much. I would be more concerned about some other sort of systemic issue going on, especially if she has elevated calcium levels on her labwork/blood tests. I would start with either the family physician or an endocrinologist and go from there. ...Read more
