What Causes Babies To Have A Head Full Of Hair At Birth
How do you know if your baby will have a head full of hair at birth andcan you tell by ultrasound pucs?
Hair ==>Cute images:
Let me start with this: looking for hair is not a reason to do or prolong an ultrasound. However, as someone who has done countless ultrasound studies, I have seen fetuses with hair on their heads floating in the fluid. We can sometimes estimate whether there is a full head or only ring-like "monk hair" toward the end of pregnancy.
The fetal pictures are cute, but the newborn ones are even cuter! ...Read more

I had laser treatment of hair removal and eye operation 7 years back. I have hair on my chin. Will both cause birth defect in baby if i conceive now?
Not related: Your laser hair removal ; eye operation should have nothing to do (neither positive nor negative) about your ability to conceive. Now if you have abundant hair in wrong places (hirutism) which can be caused by systemic diseases(eg pcod, cushings, androgen secreting tumor, etc), you may have problems conceiving. If you had cataract removed, could have been caused by too much circulating cortisol. ...Read more

Outer hairs on left eyebrow are falling out. Clear thyroid blood testing (not sure if full panel), PCOS sufferer, just started Yaz birth control to treat PCOS. Should I get more thyroid tests? Could PCOS cause this? Will Yaz help grow my hair back?
Maybe, maybe not: Yaz (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) will block some of the androgen effects of the PCOS but may not grow the eyebrow hair again. Make sure that the thyroid testing included a TSH, T3, T4, and Free Thyroid Index.(FTI) to definitely rule out thyroid disorders as a cause. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

4 months after giving birth i started lossing my hair. It stopped @ 7 months. My child has just turned 1 & it's happening again! is this normal?
Telogen Effluvium: Sudden your loss is a prominent sign of the end of a pregnancy. During pregnancy the hair grows luxuriously, and then at the end of pregnancy the hormones change suddenly and the support for hair growth is removed and the hair is lost. Sometimes extensive amounts of hair can be lost. This has to do with the growth phases of hair, but if it does not relate to a pregnancy, you should see a dermatolo. ...Read more

Stress & hair loss: Congrats, auntie! We lose hundreds of hairs each day but we don't notice b/c loss is scattered. I'm not on any birth control so the doc assumes i wana have a baby so he gave me some vitamins will they help with hair & skin to?
Prenatal Vitamins: I think your doctor does not assume you want a baby as much as he wants a potential pregancy to be as healthy as possible. Prenatal vitamins, especially folic acid, will help to prevent birth defects as well as help make sure you are both getting your necessary vitamins for optimal health. Prenatal vitamins do help with healthy hair and skin, especially if your diet is lakcing any nutrients. ...Read more
Albinism? 1. light blonde hair 2. 4 months old 3. no signs of nystagmus 4. eyes looks violet 5. baby has had a small freckle on leg since birth
Unlikely: If the pediatrician has not said anything by this point then, my hunch is that it would be unlikely especially with your description of blond hair as opposed to White hair. I am also assuming the child has had at least one ophthalmological examination to this point. If they haven't said anything yet then, again unlikely. ...Read more
