Serum lipase : Elevations in serum lipase can be caused by medication, intermittent gall bladder obstruction or slow emptying of the gall bladder, alcohol excess, pregnancy, testosterone or steroid therapies. Asymptomatic pancreatitis also causes elevations of lipase and amylase.
