Arch of right foot itched terribly for 2 days. Now there is a quarter size lump on the arch of my foot that is painful to touch and swelling as well in bottom of foot. Causes???
I have what started out as a small lump on the bottom of my foot (it has grown larger). It's not on the arch or the heal. It's painful when walking.
Have it checked: Clearly, anytime a lump develops, that increases in size and pain with ambulation, it needs to be checked out. Likely Benign: The most common cause of a lump in the arch is a plantar fibroma, a benign tumor of the plantar fascia ligament. It can be treated with steroid injections and ultrasound therapy .
