Mild systolic ejection murmurs are often just flow related, like the noise water makes in a babbling brook .Flow thru slightly narrow pulmonary arteries are frequent a cause of systolic murmurs. Clarify with your dr whether the murmur means anything. Most murmur"bad" is addressed at birth. ...Read more
My mom was just told she has a neck murmur. What is a neck murmur? What are the causes, symptoms, and treatment options?
Depends: The murmur label is just indication that there is an extra sound, usually of blood flow. In kids it is often blood flowing back to the heart from the brain, in adults it may be transmitted up from the heart or produced by a narrowing of the blood vessel (artery). Treatment, if any, would depend on the situation. A further study to discover the origin of the murmur would be next. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
My 10 year old son says his stomach is cramping and feels as if someone is pinching it along with a mild fever and headache. What could be the cause?
Could be viral.: This sounds like it could be a virus, which will have to resolve on its own. However, it could be strep throat if he also has a sore throat, or a food related intestinal infection. Appendicitis usually causes sharper, but not crampy pain. I would recommend that you take him to see his doctor to make the proper diagnosis. ...Read more

Blood in urine: The blood in her urine is not likely to be caused by aortic stenosis, even if she were on Coumadin (warfarin) if she had a metal valve. What your grandmother needs is a consultation with a urologist who will probably order a renal ultrasound to assess her kidneys. She may need a urine culture and a cystoscopy if that culture is negative for a urinary tract infection. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
