What causes a 7 year old to get a rash on her private area?

What causes a 7 year old to get a rash on her private area?

Contact irritant: I look at a rash limited to a specific area by where it is and what agents may come in contact. For a 7yo, contact with scented toilet tissue, soaps, buble bath, specialty underware with printed cartoon characters over the area, etc. Some kids that age don't rince well after a bath and soapy water, bath beads, shampoo or other products may enter her sensative genital area. This can set up a rash or itch.

Is it normal for a 7 year old girl to get a rash on her face, chest, arms, and legs after getting pink eye in both eyes?

Viral syndrome: It suggests that she probably had a viral syndrome rather than a pure conjunctivitis (pink eye). Most notably, adenovirus can cause this.

Needs to be seen: Cannot tell from your description, at least a picture of the rash, a HealthTap virtual consult can help, or see his doctor, good luck

Is it normal for a 7 year old little girl to have hair on her genital area?

Is it normal for a 7 year old little girl to have hair on her genital area?

Precocious puberty: As a medical term, precocious puberty describes puberty occurring at an unusually early age. In most of these children, the process is normal in every respect except the unusually early age, and simply represents a variation of normal development. In a minority of children, the early development is triggered by a disease such as a tumor or injury of the brain.

My 3year old has what looks like a rash on her private area, red outline around her private and a bit toward her butt. What caused it & what to do?

See your doctor.: It may be as simple as a yeast infection, but any toddler out of diapers with an unusual genital-area "rash" needs to be evaluated by a doctor.

7 year old vomited a few days ago, has since seemed his normal self. Now has a non blancing rash on his chest, but he seems well should I worry?

7 year old vomited a few days ago, has since seemed his normal self. Now has a non blancing rash on his chest, but he seems well should I worry?

Vomiting/rash: Best to have him checked. Vomiting is a non specific symptom and may be associated with another illness such as strep. If the rash does not blanch it could be petechiae. This may be associated with a more serious illness or blood that is low in platelets. Have him checked and get it sorted out. All the best.

7 year old 101.1 temp and has a rash red spots all over her body?

Get her evaluated: Call your doctor or pediatrician immediately and have the child evaluated today. If that is not possible, go to the er. It is likely just a viral illness but one cannot eliminate more serious infections over the internet.

Should I send my 7 year old child to school with his ringworm rash?

Should I send my 7 year old child to school with his ringworm rash?

No, get treatment: Ringworm is caused by a fungus and is highly contagious especially thru skin-to-skin contact. It is easily treated and quickly responds to treatment (usually with topical antifungal creams). If your child is being treated then they can go back to school usually after 24-48 hours. The child should avoid direct contact or contact sports until rash has resolved.

What happens when genital herpes go untreated in a 7 year old child tested negative but have all the symptoms?

What happens when genital herpes go untreated in a 7 year old child tested negative but have all the symptoms?

Nothing happens: A normal, healthy child who has a genital rash and tests negative for Herpes simplex will be rid of the rash soon. The doctor can help with some creams, if the rash doesn't go away quickly. If the child tests positive for herpes, nothing happens if the child is not treated. Herpes in normal people goes away without treatment. The doctor can help with treatment, only if herpes keeps coming back.

My 7 year old son has a red pimple looking rash on his chin but it is not itchy. Any suggestions?

My 7 year old son has a red pimple looking rash on his chin but it is not itchy. Any suggestions?

Yes: Leave it alone. My rule of thumb is, if a rash bothers the patient, it needs to be treated. If the rash bothers the patient's mother but the patient is otherwise fine, it can be watched to see if it improves on its own. Often, they do. If it shows no sign of getting better or it bothers him, see your doctor.

My 7 year old got stung by a bee yesertday under the arm and now it has a 5 in red rash around it. Benadryl (diphenhydramine)?

Antihistamine: I prefer to use clartin once daily for 5 days. But any antihistamine will work. It is important to use benadryl (diphenhydramine) for 3 days at least which can be cumbersome since it is not once daily as claritin or zyrtec is. Thanks for consulting with healthtap. :)
