CT - when?: It's reassuring to know that your CT was normal but was it done for this illness (recently?). Your symptoms can be due to muscular pain, pleurisy or pericarditis. an inflammation of the tiny cartilages which allow the chest to expand (they are located between the sternum (breastbone) and your ribs...is a possible Diagnosis! You need a "hands on" exam with your PCP as soon as practicable to make an accurate diagnosis not a "guess"

I am not sure that there is a cure for this short of surgery but your GI doctor could better advise you. To treat GERD we advise people to take PPI meds, avoid large meals, maintain normal weight and not eat any foods that trigger the symptoms.
