What Can You Do For Right Shoulder Pain After Appendectomy
An appendectomy is surgery to remove the appendix. The appendix is a small, finger-shaped organ extending from the first part of the large intestine. It is removed when it becomes inflamed or infected. A perforated appendix can leak and infect the entire abdominal area, which can be life-threatening. An appendectomy is done under general anesthesia, which means you are asleep and do not feel any pain during the surgery. The surgeon makes a small cut in the lower right side of your belly area ...Read more
R/O PLEURITIS: PLEURITIS=inflammation of the lining of the lung and Pericarditis = inflammation of the lining of the heart can both cause referred shoulder pain. As well as a PE=Lung blood clot. You need a full exam lab testing CXR/EKG/Shoulder X-ray to evaluate your symptoms. Please seek prompt medical attention for diagnosis and treatment options.
In few day, gas pain: Are common after laparoscopic procedures because carbon dioxide is injected into the abdomen to improve the surgeon's view. To help treat that. Position yourself on your side if you have shoulder pain caused by the carbon dioxide irritating the diaphragm. Bring your knees to your chest and hold this position for 5 to 15 minutes, recommends the universityof wisconsin hospital.
Too many to name: The differnential diagnosis for right shoulder pain is immense without further information. The best thing to do is get a formal evaluation by a physician that specializes in shoulder/musculoskeletal pain. Orthopedics, physiatrist, sports medicine, or pain physician are all reasonable choices. The problem may be from the shoulder itself or a referred pain from another area, thus requiring eval.
Coinc? Hard to answr: We're limited in this forum to 400 characters, so you're probably not going to get a satisfactory answer; use HealthTap Prime. Alternatively, you can ask the doctor who performed the ablation or your primary. Shoulder pain has many causes. If the catheter caused a perforation or if the axillary nerve was damaged, that could cause it. Arthritis & gallstones can cause shoulder pain & be coincidental
Need more informatio: How old are You? How long it bothers? How did it start? Any preceding injuries? Any associated medical problems?
Many things: Most common cause would be a "pulled muscle", but this may be a sign of something more serious such as a pneumothorax, pleural effusion or another pleural problem. If it gets worse or does not go away in a few days by itself or with over-the-counter medicines, consult a doctor.
Started with right shoulder pain at first felt stiff now it's sharp and goes to my elbow. Took anvil with no relief it's keeping me awake.
Get evaluated: May be referred from neck if no injuries. See md for xrays and work up
Severe right shoulder pain hot started spontaneously, makes my whole arm feel heavy at times. Doesn't hurt to me my arm/ shoulder in anyway!?
Referred Pain?: The same nerves that innervate the diaphragm go to the shoulder, as well. Therefore, anything that irritates the diaphragm, such as gallbladder or liver problems, can be "referred" to the shoulder. If the only symptom is shoulder pain (ie, no abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, etc), I would search elsewhere. Lung problems such as pneumonia, pleurisy can do the same, although less common.
I am suffering from right shoulder pain for last three months. Some of my friends told it is due to sugar. Any truth to that?
Rotator cuff issue?: The shoulder is the most complex joint in the body. You have the cuff muscles 4 and 2ndary muscles. ~16 muscles that have to work together for a smooth range of motion. Think flesh=muscles/tissue and not bone. Start self-pro massage, chiropractor, heat, and stretching. In my practice acupuncture is the best tool!
Possibly: Bench pressing places significant stress on the shoulders and often causes pain. Whether it is causing damage or whether you can push through it is impossible to tell without a more thorough evaluation. I recommend that you see an ortho doc with experience with shoulders.
May be...: There could be a few reasons for your symptoms. I would see a physician for assessment of your rotator cuff. If the rotator cuff is ruled out as a cause of your discomfort then your physician can look into other potential reasons behind the pain and loss of strength. http://drmarkgalland. Hmmmm: Well maybe your right shoulder is somehow compensating for something your left should is doing. You should go see a doctor if this persists.
Shoulder pain is multifactorial. It can be from bone issues -- like arthritis. It can be from muscle tendon issues -- like a torn rotator cuff, or when a tendon is inflammed. It can also be from nerve issues -- like a bulging disk in your spine. Each diagnosis ...Read more
