Absolutely!: Hi. I hate to assume, but I'm forced to here. I will assume you're type 2. Type 1's MUST take insulin; tight control with insulin is associated with weight gain. For type 2's, the weight loss drugs are GLP-1 agonists (marvelous & amazing) & SGLT-2 inhibitors; metformin is weight neutral. I use a ton of GLP-1's, SGLT-2's, and/or metformin in combination.
