Depends: If your uterus is tilted backwards and your doctor wishes to do a detailed anatomy look specially at the nuchal translucency area, than a transvaginal ultrasound will give more details. If it is just to check heart beat or placenta or just of remeasuring growth than a normal pelvic ultrasound should suffice. Discuss with your doctor.
