Its now 6weeks since I have dvt. At first the pain was unforgiving, but I'm back at work, question how long will it take me to walk with out a limp?
Depends: Some people have genetics that cause blood clots to form. When people are on birth control or have surgery they can quickly form. A Stiff One, Yeah?: No, you don't.You have DTV (figure that out yourself). You really shouldn't sit in one spot for that long (unless you're duct taped).DVT can be sneaky sometimes but usually there's some swelling and more than "a bit stiff."Like pain deep in the calf. If people can get DVT from sitting on flights then why don't they get it from laying for 8 hrs while sleeping? Most flights are shorter than 8 hours
DVT's: For the most part you are not absolutely still while sleeping. You twist and turn and move which reduces the risk of DVT's. However, prolonged laying in one position - such as in a hospital bed after surgery - places you at risk for DVT. The best way to avoid increased risk of DVT on flights is to do exercises - toe lifts and moving your feet. Hope that answers your question. ...Read more

DVT unlikely.: Isolated calf aching may be due to many reasons. Ruling out DVT is certainly one of the first things to do but other causes of the aching may also need to be ruled out including lymphedema, orthopedic or foot problems and even medication related. Try symptomatic treatment for now with compression hose knee length, elevation when possible and warm compresses. ...Read more

How do you tell the difference between DVT and pain from saphenous vein valve not working? Achy throbbing in L calf. Better walking worse sitting.
Difficult to tell:
DVT can cause pain or be completely painless.
Saphenous vein insufficiency could be caused by DVT (called post-thrombotic syndrome).
