What to do if I just had surgery and showing signs of fibromyalgia?

What to do if I just had surgery and showing signs of fibromyalgia?

Loss of muscle tone: My theory is that people who become sedentary and incapacitated lose global muscle tone, which potentiates them to greater expression of musculoskeletal instability leading to widespread chronic muscle spasms and trigger point development. They develop pain to palpation of motor points in spastic muscles. One solution is aquatherapy and regaining of muscle tone. ...Read more

If fibromyalgia is believed to be caused by the central nervous system why can't it be fixed with some kind of surgery?

What to fix?: The problem seems to be faulty signalling from the muscles and organs back to the brain. Pain signals that are sent are not necessarily sent in response to an actual painful stimulus. Many factors - stress, immune system, hormones, mood - all seem to affect the pain signals in FMS patients. Since we don't understand how all this happens yet we don't know exactly what to fix yet! ...Read more

Can an inguinal hernia surgery trauma cause fibromyalgia?

4 back surgeries & diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Use 10mg of methadone 2xday for last 15years, so I can work. Gone off for a month 3x. Why the bad rap?

4 back surgeries & diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Use 10mg of methadone 2xday for last 15years, so I can work. Gone off for a month 3x. Why the bad rap?

Lethal arrhythmia: Methadone can cause dose-dependent qt
prolongation. This can lead to torsades de pointes, a potentially lethal cardiac arrhythmia. Risk factors include: heart failure, structural heart disease, hypokalemia, long qt syndrome, & family history of sudden cardiac death. Recent dosage increase, high Methadone dose, liver dysfunction, & use of other qt prolonging drugs (eg. Antipsychotics) may incr risk. ...Read more

I have broken harrington rods in my back, unbearable pain & fear an surgery, im also suspecting fybromyalgia. Or are all the muscles aching from rods?

I have fibromyalgia and am having surgery for torn Achilles' tendon. For the last couple of nights when I wake up both knee are in excruiating pain?

CONTROVERSIAL: I have found that fibromyalgia is actually a stage 2 manifestation of Lyme Disease. Lyme Disease is a condition with the spirochete Borrelia Burgdorferi, accompanying parasites, coinfections, and biotoxins. Blood testing is inadequate to diagnose the presence of Lyme. Also Borrelia gets passes 100% of the time between significant others. Note that the pain with your Achilles could actually be ...Read more

2 weeks ago I had surgery onmy hand. I have fallen 2 times. I woke up today I hurt from head to toe. I have fibermyalgia. What can I do?

No simple answers: I would avoid taking any pain pills, I would look into low dose naltrexone, I would look into finding ways to improve the health of your brain. NAC 600mg bid rather cheap and might help. Clearly a comprehensive plan with a skilled practitioner in order. ...Read more

I had corrective surgery for sternal nonunion. A metal plate with wiring was placed. It is 8 weeks after and I am still having pain, is this normal. I have lupus type 1 diabetes, and fibromyalgia.

Complicated: Unfortunately, your additional diagnoses willvtend to slow the healing process, and cansensitize you to pain that in ssomeone without them might find less intense. 8 weeksis still plenty of time to expect at least pain improvement if not rresolution. See yoursurgeon for follow up. ...Read more

Can fibromyalgia manifest after cervical spine surgery? Chronic pain 7 mos. After surgery with no known cause or signs on MRI but mild disc bulges.

It can manifest.: At any time. I live in southeastern wisconsin where fibromyalgia is considered to be endemic. I am shocked at the number of cases that I see. I remember practicing in illinois and rarely seeing anyone with this condition and when I practiced in michigan I can count on one hand the number of fibromyalgia patients that I saw. Now I estimate that I see 2-3 such patients per day. Best wishes. ...Read more
