What Can Help Fibromyalgia Flare Up After Having Surgery
Loss of muscle tone: My theory is that people who become sedentary and incapacitated lose global muscle tone, which potentiates them to greater expression of musculoskeletal instability leading to widespread chronic muscle spasms and trigger point development. They develop pain to palpation of motor points in spastic muscles. One solution is aquatherapy and regaining of muscle tone. ...Read more

If fibromyalgia is believed to be caused by the central nervous system why can't it be fixed with some kind of surgery?
What to fix?: The problem seems to be faulty signalling from the muscles and organs back to the brain. Pain signals that are sent are not necessarily sent in response to an actual painful stimulus. Many factors - stress, immune system, hormones, mood - all seem to affect the pain signals in FMS patients. Since we don't understand how all this happens yet we don't know exactly what to fix yet! ...Read more

Risk factors include: heart failure, structural heart disease, hypokalemia, long qt syndrome, & family history of sudden cardiac death. Also Borrelia gets passes 100% of the time between significant others. Note that the pain with your Achilles could actually be ...Read more

Can you still have surgery (laparoscopic for endometriosis) if you have new flare up of shingles (herpes zoster)?
Depends on location: This depends on the location of the outbreak. If well away from the lower abdomen, i.e. where the laparoscopy will be done, probalby no problem. But of course check with your doctor. Recurrent shingles is very rare. If recurrent herpes anywhere from upper thighs to the waist, more likely this is recurrent genital herpes due to HSV2, not herpes zoster. ...Read more
