What Can Cause White Blood Cells To Be Low
I had blood work done red blood cells white blood cells and platelets were all low also hemocrit among others does this indicate leukemia?
What is the actual: Count. Normal white cell count can range from 3-4 at the lower end to about 11 at the upper end. Also one needs a differential count and levels of hemoglobin and platelet counts for proper interpretation.
No relation: There is a lot of theory of what caused migraine headache low white cell is not one of them most likely they are not connected low white cell could make you vulnerable for infection make sure you keep following with your doctor and follow their advice it could turn to a serious problem Hope this helps! Thank you for using health tap good luck
Failure to thrive: At first glance I would say this indicates some type of malnutrition either due to some type of dietary deficiency or failure of the gut to absorb what you are eating. This needs careful attention by your primary doctor because there are so many more reasons for these 2 things to coexist and need to be investigated thoroughly.
Leukemia: Bone marrow malignancies involving the myeloid cells will cause abnormal growth of a certain clone of white cells and inhibit the proliferation of normal cell populations such as platelet precursors and red cell precursors so anemia would be expected also. Severe infection with septicemia could lead to the same problem via destruction of platelets in small blood vessels. Two very different cases!See 1 more doctor answer
Accutane caused me to have low white blood cells and higher lipid levels in my blood and I was just wondering why and how this happens?
Effects bone marrow: Accutane has a long list of side effects, some potentially serious, involving many organ systems, which is why close monitoring by qualified physicians is mandatory for its use. Listed side effects are all within the spectrum of these adverse reactions, due to suppression of bone marrow. The good news is that most of these changes are temporary and return to normal after drug discontinuation.See 1 more doctor answer
Less common: Usually the white blood cell count rises with sepsis, but about 10% of cases have an initially low wbc. This is actually a poor prognostic sign. Even when initially low, the WBC typically rises in the next few days.
Not usually in blood: Usually slight elevation of polymorphonucear white cells with the infection which can be reduced with proper therapy for the infection. Sometimes low white blood cell count can be attributed to therapy.
What causes low white blood cells with severe tummy pain unable to eat solid food. Dorctors prescribed morphine for pain?
Diagnosed (extreme low RBC / extra large white blood cells)vit d defi., white matter dis, sm vessel brain dis, BP aver.178/92.With no dia. Cause help?
High BP consquences?: You need to see a physician (p) about your anemia and WBC problems as well as controlling your hypertension. Your vit. D deficiency and anemia could be due to some chronic kidney disease, perhaps due to your high bp. Your small vessel and white matter diseases could be due, once again, to your high bp. See a p to get started on therapy and have some blood work sent off for a diagnosis and a cure.
Usually...: ...It does not affect them enough to notice.
Can 600mg of gabapentin, 40mg of prozac, and 20mg of ritalin (methylphenidate) cause white blood cells to be 16.8. I take Prozac and ritalin (methylphenidate) in am and gabapentin in pm.
I have researched: This and all three drugs have been shown to rarely cause elevated white blood cell counts. Have your family doctor evaluate you and send you to a hematologist if it is felt to be necessary, although the count is not that high and should probably be followed to see if you are in the process of developing an infection somewhere or if it will spontaneously return to normal. Best wishes.See 1 more doctor answer
Nothing: The scale is different. There are vastly more rbcs.
Unlikely: This is either UTI or vaginal secretions contaminating the urine specimen. Talk to your doctor.
If someone is anemic and their hemoglobin is dropping is it normal for their white blood cells to drop too? If not what could cause both?
Not normal: Anemia is never normal. Simply watching a hemoglobin drop without a diagnosis and plan is unacceptable and inexcusable. The white cells dropping concurrently suggests aplastic anemia or myelodysplasia.
