My 3 yo got a bug bite a week ago. All that's left is two small red dots flush to the skin. Should i be concerned? No redness around them.

Bug Bites: Although bug bites can be dramatic and even hurt when you get bit, most heal well as you describe. You have looked for all the concerns that would signal an infection, like surrounding redness or swelling. I am experiencing skin redness or irritation around my lips after I eat, laugh, even kiss. This redness, when i'm not eating etc, is a brown pigmented line which looks like a distorted lip liner. This started 6 years ago as a small brown dot.

No, not dangerous: Red dots that appear in the exposed area after a severe sunburn are not dangerous, and if they represent capillary damage they will fade in a week or so (depending on the degree of injury). If they last longer they could be cherry angiomas, another benign condition. ...Read more
