Remember: Hyperthyroidism - which appears to be the case with based on your biochemical studies - can present with a spectrum of symptoms. Not everyone has tremor, palpitations, anxiety, emotional lability, weakness, heat intolerance, increased perspiration, and/or weight loss. But your testing does suggest that you need further evaluation for the cause of your hyperthyroidism. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I'm 27. Last year blood work fine. Now I have low TSH, and total T-3 and free T-4 are both high.No thyroid symptoms, maybe chest pain. What is this?
Overactive thyroid: You have an overactive thyroid. Sometimes this is the early phase of what eventually will become an underactive thyroid (thyroiditis). It will need treatment and close followup. Fortunately, there are excellent medications that can normalize your function either way, albeit slowly, so stay in close touch with your doctor! ...Read more
With low TSH levels hyperthyroid is off the table right? What other issues, full normal blood panel, could cause a major weight loss?
Low tsh?: Normal TSH values fall within a range. If the TSH is low, or in other words, below the lower limit of normal, it may suggest your thyroid is overactive. When your body produces too much thyroid hormone, the brain tries to compensate by making less tsh, and therefore the levels show up low. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
27 yrs old. This years blood work showed: Low TSH, and total T-3 and free T-4 are both high. Last year's test were fine. What could thus indicate?
Mild hyperthyroidism: Unless you are taking thyroid medication (and taking too much) this could mean mild hyperthyroidism. If your doc measured TSH, FT3 and FT4, (s)he must have suspected something. Most likely cause of hyperthyroidism in a 27 yo woman is Graves disease or one of several forms of thyroiditis. You may need to see an Endocrinologist. ...Read more
What does a low TSH score of .08 indicate? I have been takin levothyroxin for 9 years and my last blood test shows a TSH score of .08.
Too much levothyrox?: That result is below the usual target of 0.5-5, indicating that there may be too much T4 (levothyrox) in your system. 1. the doctor who prescribes your T4 should determine whether a dose reduction is needed. 2. if you are feeling well, the first thing to do may be to repeat the test. 3. after 9 years, it is possible that your T4 requirement has indeed gone down and your dose should be lowered. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
In hyperthyroidism, would a low TSH be caused by a pituatary tumor? If so, what would blood tests indicate?
My basophil count is raised at 0.04 and im 8 weeks pregnant. All other blood was ok apart from low tsh. Any idea what could be causing this.
Pregnant with low TSH ultrasound of thyroid found mulitnodular thyroid. Biggest nodule hypoechoic 1.3 x 1.0 x 1.3 CM in with increased blood flow?
Hyperthyroid: Hi. You're hyperthyroid by TSH. That can be safely treated during pregnancy if necessary. The nodules have a high likelihood of being a "toxic (hyperthyroid) multi nodular goiter". Wait until you deliver and are done nursing for a few months, and then measure 123-Iodine thyroid uptakes and scan. A "cold" nodule will need biopsy to check for cancer; "hot" nodules don't have that risk. Good luck! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Feeling unwell, Blood Tests T3 (liothyronine) 1.13, T4 11.18,T4 Free1.63, TSH <0.005, Prolactin 25.37 Luteinizing hormone 4.72.I am hypothyroid, so why low TSH??
What is causing my hypocomplementemia? I have low TSH and vitamin d. I've had kidney stones. My blood pressure and heart rate have all been higher
Need to look at T3 (liothyronine): And free t4. Low tsh, depending on the sensitivity of the assay, indicates thyroid hyper-function. However, the suspected hyperthyroidism needs to be confirmed with high levels of T3 (liothyronine) and free t4. All lab tests need to be evaluated in the clinical context and it would be prudent to take up the issue with your doctor. ...Read more
Unlikely but...: Rhodiola is known to improve thyroid function and thus might be expected to reduce TSH levels somewhat (though more research on this is needed). However, a low TSH tends to be a sign of hyperthyroidism and, as far as i know, rhodiola is not known to stimulate the thyroid to the point of hyperthyroidism. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Very low TSH with high normal free T4. Twitching. Changed dose. How long til levels normal out? Still twitching 2 weeks later. Had basic neuro exam.
What did you: change the dose of? If it's thyroid replacement, it can take weeks for the level to normalize, asumming you're now on the correct dose. If it's an ANTI-thyroid drug, it can takes months to work as it only inhibits the formation of NEW thyroid hormone, not the hormone that's already been manufactured. ...Read more
