What are the symptoms of low blood pressure? Is it a serious thing to worry about?

What are the symptoms of low blood pressure? Is it a serious thing to worry about?

Dizziness: The most common symptom of low BP is dizziness, especially when rising to stand. There are some clinical setting where we may worry about lower BP, but in general lower BP is protective. For people who are normally hypertensive, they may not tolerate having their BP lowered that far--it may affect their cerebral blood flow.

Hypotension (Definition)

Hypotension is defined as "low blood pressure". Blood pressure is measured as two numbers and expressed as systolic blood pressure (sbp) / diastolic blood pressure (dbp). The sbp is the pressure that is generated when the heart squeezes. Dbp occurs when the heart relaxes. 120/70 is considered normal in adults. Less than 100/60 (of either number) can ...Read more

How do I manage symptoms of low blood pressure (hypotension)?

See your doctor: The definition of hypotension will vary person to person. It is defined as a low blood pressure reading that makes a person feel poorly. While a young person of low body weight and small size may feel fine with a BP of 90/65, an older person might be sick at this level. Many medical issues can cause symptomatic hypotension including endocrine problems such as a sluggish thyroid and anemia.

What cause low blood pressure? What are its symptoms?

What cause low blood pressure? What are its symptoms?

Dubious idea: This is a "pop" diagnosis especially in parts of europe, and some physicians believe in it; it's used to explain a variety of symptoms (including folks I suspect are somatizing / just unhappy); it's not mainstream, and if somebody's symptomatic, i'd look for some other cause. The healthy heart keeps pressure just adequate to perfuse the body; "low" shouldn't be a problem.

Low blood B/P: This is a little low for an 18 year old female, but some peaple normally have low blood pressure & are doing fine, if you feel ok & not getting dizzy or light headed, then that is ok for you, just keep monitoring your B / P & keep records so if are seeking your doctor for any reason, show these readings, good luck

How does support stocking help impre low blood pressure symptoms during exercise?

How does support stocking help impre low blood pressure symptoms during exercise?

Support hose: Support hose improve return of blood from the leg veins to the central circulation and can help improve blood pressure. There is also a possible mild improvement in the blood pressure from the mild general vascular compression in the lower extremities.

I have new symptom. Low blood pressure and fast pulse. Just keep adding symptoms.

Sorry to hear it: Depending on your heart rate, the low BP could be a result of your abnormally fast hr. Alternatively, both can be due to intravascular contraction: bleeding, anemia and dehydration. You should get checked.

What a case typically cause low blood pressure. Is a average of112/63 normal for a twenty two year old female?

What a case typically cause low blood pressure. Is a average of112/63 normal for a twenty two year old female?

Healthy living: Healthy living causes low blood pressure. Your average of 112/63 is perfectly fine. I myself thankfully sometimes run around 99/70. Dangerous low blood pressure is below 75/50. Usually what causes this low blood pressure is a bacterial infection in the blood.

Many reviews of women who've used Metrogel. 75%, include women with side effects such as low blood pressure & syncoPe. Bad effects on Flagyl, scared?

Ignore scary stories: There is no way MetroGel could cause such symptoms. You're probably seeing scare stories from people who are making assumptions about what caused their symptoms. This is at least your third question about your unreasonable fear of MetroGel. Let's make it the last, OK?

60 year old woman with very low blood pressure on low-salt diet (by choice). Good idea or is that a problem?

60 year old woman with very low blood pressure on low-salt diet (by choice). Good idea or is that a problem?

Not problem: Low blood pressure is not considered as serious as high blood pressure, assuming you do not have symptoms. A normal blood pressure is when the reading is 120/80. Anything below those numbers is considered low. There is no specific blood pressure reading that is considered dangerously low, as it can vary with different individuals.
