However, if not treated there can be serious side effects (hearing loss, chronic headaches, arthritis, type 2 DM & others). In real life, growth plates always stop and then height growth does not happen after those years. Yes an: elevated GROWTH hormone from a PITUITARY tumor causes growth in adults...including height! There are MANY OTHER SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS!
