Can be but unlikely: Vaginal yeast infections are very common in women and mostly have nothing to do with diabetes. If you have diabetes, you're more likely to get them because sugar in the urine feeds yeast cells normally present on the skin anyway which can lead to overgrowth. Any irritant: Hpv, dysplasia(precancerous change), bacterial vaginosis, lichen sclerosus, genital shaving, irritation from the tissues rubbing against other tissue (obesity), several dermatologic changes. For non infectious sources a topical steroid is the treatment, for infection the appropriate antibiotic if bacterial, virus has to be addressed by immune system or aldara (imiquimod). ...Read more
