I'm a 35 yr old female and everytime I start to drink coffee I end up having pain in my chest on the left side. I was told back in 1997 that I had developed pleurisy in my chest from drinking energy drinks but I read that caffeine doesn't cause pleurisy.
I've been getting this tingling feeling on the left side of my neck and armpit.i just recently stop drinking energy drinks, I drank them for over 2 y?
Hard to say: The stress involved in withdrawing from the stimulants might be causing muscle tightness in the neck and some pinched nerves. With your other conditions and risk factors, despite your young age, I might also want to be reassured by assuring that there was no evidence the symptoms might represent angina. That is symptoms associated with your heart not getting enough blood. An exam would help. ...Read more
Could drinking red bull or rockstar energy drinks have a negative side effect which could be kidney stones in men?
Probably not: There are many active ingredients in engery drinks, but taurine, glucuronolactone, and caffeine are the main ones. Effects differ: While some may experience a paradoxical calming affect, others may become more agitated or have worse concentration issues. Caffeine ; calming: Guarana is a main source of caffeine in energy drinks, which is a natural stimulant. I am really not sure why energy drinks have taurine, which is an Amino Acid that has a calming effect on the nervous system ; does not make people feel energetic. My best guess is that because the first energy drinks had taurine all the others have it because people now expect energy drinks to have it!see comment:. ...Read more
Avoid it.: It is not healthy. It has very high sugar and Caffine content. 5 times more than a cup of coffee. It makes you more alert for a short time, but it can cause Arrythmia. And if mixed with alcohol, can be fatal. ...Read more

No: But depends on how much your drink. A single 5-hour energy has about the same amount of caffeine as 2 large and strong cups of coffee, so it is probably no worse than that. The vitamins and ginseng and other stuff in those drinks is worthless and does no good or harm, but the companies pretend that they give you more energy. A healthy diet, exercise, and a balanced lifestyle give us energy. ...Read more
They are a scam: Most energy drinks are high doses of caffeine, which is a stimulant. If used occasionally they are not a big deal, and no worse than equivalent amounts of caffeine in soda or coffee. When used regularly and/or in high doses, caffeine increases anxiety, causes insomnia, can raise blood pressure and pulse, and causes a rebound fatigue. The vitamins etc some put in them are useless and add expense. ...Read more
None: Energy drinks are basically caffeine, and this is not required for good health, the ability to exercise or muscle strength. In fact, many trainers strongly recommend against the use of excessive caffeine for people who are training. The vitamins and other supplements in the drinks are a waste of money. A healthy balanced diet is adequate for nutritional needs, maybe protein shakes and a mvi (multivitamin). ...Read more
Not doing it: Energy drinks are simply high doses of caffeine, which is not good for people in excess. Energy and stamina do not come out of a pill bottle, or for that matter 5 cups of coffee, although that can be a temporary solution. The long-term answer is good diet, exercise, staying at healthy weight, getting adequate sleep. A therapeutic multivitamin may help if your diet isn't what it should be. ...Read more
