If I'm on the hepatitis b vaccination for 0, 7, 21 day schedule - can I have my third shot later than the 21st day?

Yes: This can be delayed weeks or months and still be effective. You will not have to start over. However, you will not be fully protected until you complete the series.

Is it possible to get hepatitis b with vaccination?

Is it possible to get hepatitis b with vaccination?

Yes: About 5% of the us population has a genetic background that makes them unable to respond to the hepatitis b vaccine. If you work in a high risk occupation (like health care) or engage in higher risk behaviors, it is best to have your hepatitis b surface antibody titer checked to make sure you responded. People who don't respond get different management if they have a high risk exposure.

Hepatitis b vaccination for 0, 7, 21 day schedule - can I actually get my third shot later than the 21st day?

Hepatitis b vaccination for 0, 7, 21 day schedule - can I actually get my third shot later than the 21st day?

Yes: This booster can be delayed for a considerable period without losing the benefit. I would plan to get it as the long term benefit of the first two is not maintained unless you get the 3rd.

My husband is a carrier of hepatitis b I think. I had the vaccination when inwas a baby. Can you educate me about hepatitis?

Hep b prevention: Women who become pregnant will get tested for hepatitis b. If you find out if you have an active infection with hepatitis b, is not in the world for your pregnancy because any neonatal exposure can be prevented and treated with antibodies given afterbirth and vaccines.

I want protection from hepatitis b for my family, me 58, wife 50, son 29, son 28. Should we get vaccination directly or we need to get some tests?

I want protection from hepatitis b for my family, me 58, wife 50, son 29, son 28. Should we get vaccination directly or we need to get some tests?

Reasonable thought: The Hepatitis B Vaccine is available in different locations through a variety of methods. Some pharmacist in my state will provide them as a drop in. Physicians are often required to have a physician patient relationship to provide any treatments (ongoing or new) that might entail an office visit within the last year. Make some calls.

For what reasons do we need 3 does of certain vaccinations like hepatitis b?

Building immunity: Vaccine developers will routinely check the effect of single vs several dose programs to see what is needed to provide long term protection. If one dose works but fades after months & 3 will give you many years of protection, the 3 dose program will be the one adopted.

Can there be any problem if the 3 dose of hepatitis b vaccinations completed in 3 months?

Get a repeat in 12 m: It is ok to have an accelerated schedule of vaccinations for hepatitis b, but the amount of antibody your body makes if usually lower than if you got vaccines at months 0, 1 and 6. You can either get your hepatitis b surface antibody titer checked and if it is high you are protected. If low, get a repeat vaccine in 9 - 12 months.

Does one become asymptomatic (hepatitis b) through vaccination?

Confusing question: One does not treat hepatitis b with a vaccination. If one has completed the Hepatitis B Vaccine series, antibodies in the blood prevent a new exposure from causing active disease. Testing the blood should show protective antibodies. If a person has hepatitis b, the vaccine would not be a benefit.
