I have a sore throat for four days now I don't feel sick it feels like I may have a scratch in there. I been drinking hot tea, orange juice.

Nothing Strong

Juice
Tea is OK, however Orange Juice is too irritating on the tissue. Use something that is more gengle to the tissue. Also you can do the usual way is to take liquid medicine or cough drops designed for the throat. The OLD WAY is to gargle with peroxide, The NEW WAY is to gargle with Chlorhexidine Gluconate (Brand Name = Peridex and needs an Rx from your Physician or Dentist).

Could you explain health benefits to drinking black tea the way I do?

Hmm

Black teas have been dried and fermented. They have had alot of processing which means less health benefits compared to red, white or green teas.

Is drinking black tea good for you?

Light vs dark tea

African_american
Tea is derived from the Camellia Sinensis tree. The leaves contain antioxidant polyphenols which have an anti-carcinogenic effect. Lighter tea (white & green) is less processed. Black tea is dried & fermented. Studies suggest green tea can assist with glycemic control as well as reduced heart disease death rate. There are more studies around that suggest benefits from green tea than for black.
