I'm in my mid 30s and take vitamins such as calcium magnesium zinc and fish oil on a daily basis.  are there any potential risks?  is it safe?

Be careful with zinc: Zinc can be helpful in maintaining your healthy immune function, but too much zinc can actually decrease your immune function. Excess zinc can cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. It can also interfere with the absorption of other essential minerals, particularly magnesium and copper. A copper deficiency can inhibit the transport of iron in the body and result in anemia. The upper limit is 40mg/d. ...Read more

I began a calcium/magnesium supplement program, how long before I notice the full effects?

I began a calcium/magnesium supplement program, how long before I notice the full effects?

Depends: Why are you on the program? I recommend a 1:1 dosage--i.e., equal amounts of calcium and magnesium. The dosage is determined by your bowel tolerance--i.e., the dosage that gives you diarrhea or loose stools. Just reduce the dosage to what is comfortable for you. Excess calcium impairs magnesium absorption--and inadequate magnesium impairs calcium absorption. ...Read more

Suggest me some multivitamins tablet that contain good amount of zinc, calcium, magnesium. And should be safe to use?

Doctors and vitamins: I hope you understand that the various vitamin products on the market are something that most physicians would not have any expertise in. There are vitamin standards set by the government and daily recommended doses. These are all well displayed on the vitamin products available.

Nothing you eat or drink will add inches to the final specified in your genes. Most over 18 have closed growth centers and will not grow taller, a few will grow a little until 20.
