Prenatal vitamins: Prenatal vitamins are typically full of b vitamins especially folate (folic acid) which if taken prior to getting pregnant lowers risk of spinal tube defects. Some studies suggest benefit to fish (oil) but that data is still early. In fact, she may be one of the 20% who carries it! since 20% of the population does carry it without ever becoming ill from it, you would be hard pressed to find a school where the students and teachers are staph-free. The best thing to do is to teach your daughter good hygiene. Good hand washing and the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers have both been found to be effective methods of preventing infection.
