No: 5th metatarsal fractures generally take 6-8 wks to heal. Follow your physicians advice. There really are no shortcuts in fracture healing; additionally some 5th metatarsal fractures("jones fx.") have a propensity for non- union( fracture does not heal)... 5th met fracture: Generally it takes 6-8 weeks for bones to show radio graphic healing (x-ray healing) but reality is that bones take longer to heal completely. If you didn't have surgery, usually 3-4 months of healing and recovery is needed, but because it's the 5th met, you may still need surgery (it's a difficult bone to heal, sorry).
