There are few red spots on my scalp, which makes my scalp very itchy. How to cure it permanently? Thank you

A few causes: Itchy scalp spots can be many things. I would try some anti-dandruff shampoo 3-5 time per week for a couple weeks, and if that doesn't help, then see a doctor. Sometimes, this kind of problem needs a doctors evaluation. Other things this could be include tinea capitis (fungal infection), psoriasis, discoid lupus, lichen planopilaris, early alopecia areata among many others. Get it checked out.

Scalp (Definition)

Clogged pores: This is possible folliculitis. An acne type eruption. Try to avoid hair spray and serums on the scalp. Also using a sal acid shampoo might help. If the condition does not resolve see a doctor for prescription medication.

I have itchy red spots on my scalp and also have flaking skin coming off my head. I use biolage shampoo and conditioner... What do I do?

Depends: Your condition may be seborreic dermatitis or scalp psoriasis. These conditions are at either end of the spectrum and psoriasis is generally more severe w silvery scale and redness. Both conditions do best with rx shampoo like clobetasol to reduce inflammation. If its seb derm, an rx anti fungal shampoo is also good. Otc zinc or selenium shampoo are good but rx are better.

See dermatologist: This does not represent ms, but certainly could be a reaction to your meds, as some ms drugs can be immunosuppressants and create an infection susceptibility. Have this diagnosed and treated and reassess your current med approach.

Very itchy scalp, flaking, red spots from scratching, feels like crawling on head (and body a little). Just started yesterday.

Itchy scalp: Your condition you describe may be head lice. Have someone search your scalp and hair carefully for lice and for eggs called nits glued to hairshaft near scalp. Call your doctor to report your situation and ask how to proceed.

Red flat spots on scalp, one is a bit raised. Not itchy. Dr has no idea what they are. What could they be. Is it ok to put steroid cream on them?

Dermatologist: The hazard of steroid cream is that if there is a fungal or other infection involved, it could get worse. Best to see a dermatologist for a diagnosis.

I'm afraid I might have scabies, red spots appear on hands and are really itchy. They leave the next day, come back in a week. Is this what it can do?

I'm afraid I might have scabies, red spots appear on hands and are really itchy. They leave the next day, come back in a week. Is this what it can do?

Not scabies: Hi Bob, although anything is possible, the pattern of rash you have described would be highly atypical of scabies. Scabies would likely not improve until treated. Eczema and similar hypersensitivity type skin conditions would be more likely in this scenario.

Need pic:): Best to see a picture...you can use HealthTap to send one if you wish. Best guess without picture is eczema, the result of very dry skin, or contact dermatitis caused by irritation or allergy. Could also be a drug rash if you have taken a new medication. Calamine lotion, OTC strength topical cortisone cream, and OTC diphenhydramine can be tried. If persists, see your doctor or dermatologist.

Shingles?: Please see a doctor. It sounds like you may have shingles, and medicines can reduce symptom duration and prevent complications. You may have a bacterial infection called impetigo. This would require a special prescription ointment. Only a medical provider can tell you for sure.
