I'm 22 yrs old living in an old home in Baltimore. Sometimes I drink Tap water. Could this water contain Lead & what are symtomps of lead poisoning?
Hard to say: Any water source could be contaminated by lead & many other things. Most urban centers monitor their water supply & filter out the lead. If your home is ancient and has old pipes that were soldered with lead based material it could be a home issue. You can have your water tested or call your city water department for the lead level. Lead is insidious, causing anemia long before it affects the brain
Rinsed a neti pot w/ hot tap water before filling distilled water for me to use. Should I be concerned with amoebas, & what are symptoms? - las vegas.
Neti pot: It would be highly unlikely to get an amoeba infection from rinsing the neti pot with hot tap water.
Fluids: Generally fluids with electrolyte composition are best. They help to restore any losses you may have had and help to repair the bowel. All the best.
Depends: Depending on the area, some municipalities have certified water systems & some do not. The final distribution point can also be a factor. Just because an area has a certified supply does not mean a site has not developed issues within its plumbing. If you have a question while traveling, look for the water quality signs posted at city entry, check with hotels or use bottled water.See 1 more doctor answer
Water: The healthiest is pure water. Tap water may contain contaminants, chemicals and if comes from well or city town source. Can have it tested. Simple - buy brita water filter. Why do want alkaline water? Guess put alka seltzer in water, voila alkaline water good stomach upset. Shame but pure water hard to find naturally. Bottled ok but plastic bottles problem. Get good water filter.
Water temperature?: Allergic reactions to water are very unusual. Cold water could trigger cold urticaria (hives) while hot water could trigger cholinergic hives. There is a very rare physical type of hives called "aquagenic urticaria" where just plain tap water regardless of temperature or salinity (salt vs. Fresh) on the skin can cause hives.
Floods: Floods are New Zealand’s number one hazard in terms of frequency, losses and declared civil defense emergencies. Floods can cause injury and loss of life, damage to property and infrastructure, loss of stock, and contamination of water and land. Getting ready before a flood strikes will help reduce damage to your home and business and help you survive. Http://www. Getthru. Govt. Nz/disasters/flood/See 1 more doctor answer

Depends: It depends on the filter and the particular.
Great question: The issue is what do you mean by flooding? Is it a backed up sewer on the corner r a real down to earth flood, grab the animals 2 by 2 and head for the hills! The most import thing is that you ask the question, a large flood (even if not of biblical proportions) can affect fresh water supply, if doubt boil your water and speak to your town or water districtSee 10 more doctor answers
Purifying water: Although a rapid boil for one minute followed by cooling is much better, chlorine bleach can also be used to purify water. If the water is relatively clear, use three drops per 1 quart of water, and wait for 30 minutes. If it is cloudy, try to filter it first with whatever you have available, followed by five drops per quart, and wait for 60 minutes. Avoid water contaminated by chemicals.See 3 more doctor answers
Probably not: If your symptoms persist, call your family doctor.
White stuff (calcium?) in drinkable tap water. Effect of this on my (long/short term) health? How does the body cleanse itself of this?
Ask your water dept: Sounds like you have a potential sediment problem with your water supply. I would check with the city water department or your city government offices where you live to see if they have any answers. If this is something that just began then, there may be contamination to your line. No way to tell without testing what it is so I would suggest drinking bottled water for now.
