My cartilage piercing has a bubble behind it and infected in the front as well. Why?

Is it effective to take an antibiotic right after oral sex if I believe I was infected?

Why?: You are male, I assume, and the potential infections from bacteria are quite low compared with the reverse. The infections that are most serious and cannot be treated once acquired are with carcinogenic strains of hpv and herpes 1 or 2. Talk to your doctor about concerns, but I think an antibiotic would rarely be indicated! ...Read more

If you have a small cut and it gets infected, can it be treated with antibiotic cream? Will it usually streak if it spreads.

Sometimes: There are different degrees of infection. If the wound shows a little redness at the periphery you should be able to treat it with a topical antibiotic. However, with more redness, swelling, pain or warmth you should see a doctor. Streaking of the redness away from the wound would be a sign of a more significant infection that would also need medical attention. ...Read more

How to make infected wound heal faster? I've got my oral antibiotic and antibiotic ointment, how long does it takes to heal? What should be on my diet?

Patience.: If you take your antibiotic and apply the ointment, it will heal. Give it time. If it stops improving, the bacteria may be resistant to that particular antibiotic, and you should call your doctor. But as long as it's improving, however slowly, let it continue to heal. There is no way to artificially speed up this process, including modifying your diet. Just eat healthy and be patient. ...Read more

However, if the infection is expansive or there is abscess formation, then it may require surgical intervention to drain or remove the most infected part, along with antibiotic therapy. ...Read more
