- calorie balance: All weight loss depends on negative calorie balance, either by consuming less or increasing use (exercise). 10 # means neg balance of 35, 000, start with balance of -500 cal/day for goal of 1 - 2 #/week. That is more likely to be kept off. Track you calorie intake, drink plenty of water, get appropriate sleep, exercise.
Diet & exercise: Make sure you exercise at least 90 minutes a day, don't skip meals, avoid soda, juice, dairy, alcohol and fried foods. Eat a healthy well balanced diet! also water, organic vegetable broth, green leafy vegetables, natural pickles, apples are great to fill you up so you dont feel hungry and they are very low in calories.See 1 more doctor answer
Can't be done!: I am a doctor and professor of nutrition. Lost 15 lbs in 3 weeks. That is about the best that can be done. Weight loss will slow down after the first month: example- 17 lbs one month; 30 lbs the first six months; 40 lbs after one year.

How many pounds would you be able to lose in 3 months if you weigh 160lbs, are 5'9" (female) eat 1200 & exercise everyday for one hour (just started)?
You will lose weight: It takes a negative caloric balance of 3500 calories to lose one pound of weight. So if you remain active besides daily exercise and keep your calories down , you could lose about 2-3 pounds per month, if you eat right(low carbs and high proteins(low fat foods). It is best to make a long range plan to change your life style...As 3 months discipline alone is not enough to keep your weight low.
How can I lose 5 pounds in a week? I know all about eating right and excerising and all that and i already do that but im just saying i need to lose it quick. Any ideas?
Rapid weight loss.: Real loss cannot exceed 2.5 lbs a week. Anything greater is short term. A 100 years of study by real scientists confirm that. Exercise and a balanced diet confirmed by a weight reduction specialist/md is best. Don't be fooled by the supplement companies that promise more than 2.5 a week. Won't work long term....Ever.
