Sir, I am suffering from scar endo metrosis for the last 15 years near perineum after episiotomy duing first delivery. Can mirena (levonorgestrel) cure this problem.?

Perineal pain: If you had adequate surgery then the endo is probably not the issue. You may have other problems, like pudendal neuralgia/vulvodynia, pelvic floor muscle pain. Mirena (levonorgestrel) could help as well as Danazol suppositories. But you need to be evaluated by a pelvic pain specialist. ...Read more

Why is it that when I have sex without a condom I'm sore in the perineum area for days? I had an episiotomy 5 years ago, could that cause discomfort?

Yes: Have your GYN MD take a look at the area for scar tissue from the episiotomy when it healed. He/she may have to do a revision of the area if it is the only source of your pain which can be documented by pressure on certain points of the old scar. ...Read more

I have a small lump on the entrance of vagina. Right on the opening. I have a trace amount of lecocytes (I think is what they are called) in my urine showing signs of possible UTI. However I got a viral cutural test or something to see exactly what it is.

I have a small lump on the entrance of vagina. Right on the opening. I have a trace amount of lecocytes (I think is what they are called) in my urine showing signs of possible UTI. However I got a viral cutural test or something to see exactly what it is.

Doubt herpes, but...: Presumably no blisters, sores, or pain or you would have said so. Leukocytes (white blood cells) in urine can be due to STDs in addition to UTI, but "trace" is normal. A painless lump usually isn't an STD, but the doc seems concerned about herpes, the main reason for a genital viral culture. Doesn't sound like it, but still ask your doctor how strongly she suspects it, maybe start treatment now? ...Read more

Cpms (certified professional midwives) who are not allowed to work in hospitals generally do not have formal on call coverage. Make sure you understand this important difference. ...Read more
