It IS reassuring that it has been present for a couple of years, and nothing more dramatic has developed, but an evaluation of your pelvic organs by ultrasound or other imaging should be done. Possible lymphoma: The presence of lymph nodes that can be palpated in axilla would lead to evaluation of other sites as seen on CAT scan. This procedure must have been ordered to see if other nodal areas were involved as in retroperitoneum. Since there are many causes of multiple areas of enlarged nodes, dx must be determined by bx. Remember that Depo-Provera protects against pregnancy when you get shot regularly. But it doesn't protect against sexually transmitted diseases which is why he needs to wear a condom each & every time, even tho you're on birth control.
