Iv and oral iron OK: Oral iron causes some constipation. Some companies make a chewable chocolate version that is quite tolerable (bariatric advantage). When the iron is quite low, the intravenous route is the best way to recover. However, you should then start an oral regimen. In bypass patients, a low copper level could inhibit absorption of iron. You might take a copper supplement also. ...Read more
