I am in finishing the week 37 of pregnancy, and the my baby is male but now his weight is about 2400 grams, should i worry about his weight?

I am in finishing the week 37 of pregnancy, and the my baby is male but now his weight is about 2400 grams, should i worry about his weight?

In nature...: In nature, people don't know how much an unborn baby weighs. So, if a pregnancy has been going well, there is no worry about the weight, because nobody knows the weight. That means having a numerical estimate of the weight, can become a cause of worry. That being said, 2400 grams with 3 weeks to go is ok, in a normal pregnancy. ...Read more

Get explanation: It's not clear what units are in use, so i can't tell you whether this is a severe case (rare, serious restrictions) or a mild case ("no fava beans and watch out for some antimalarial meds.") find out which, and don't complicate your kids' lives more than you need to especially if it's the mild type, which is extremely common. ...Read more

Iam 27 yrs old female and 37 weeks of pregnancy. My ESR range is 95 mm. What is the risk and treatment.

Iam 27 yrs old female and 37 weeks of pregnancy. My ESR range is 95 mm. What is the risk and treatment.

ESR: This non-specific indicator of inflammation was studied in pregnant women. For women without anemia the reference range of ESR rose from 18-48 mm/h in the first half of pregnancy to 30-70 mm/h in the second half of pregnancy. For anemic women the reference ranges were 21-62 mm/h and 40-95 mm/h, respectively. This is consistent with your values, but does not exclude other causes. ...Read more

Significance of low co2 (17mEq/l) and high anion gap (19mEq/l) in late (37 weeks) pregnancy? All other tests in metabolic panel within normal limits.

Significance of low co2 (17mEq/l) and high anion gap (19mEq/l) in late (37 weeks) pregnancy? All other tests in metabolic panel within normal limits.

Reason for checking: I suppose the answer would vary depending on why it was checked. If there were certain symptoms or problems then the tests need to be analyzed in that context. Simply looking at only these numbers with no context they do not appear particularly abnormal for the 3rd trimester of pregnancy. The doctor who ordered them will be in the best position to interpret them. ...Read more

Quoting merck: "Gallstones appear to be more common during pregnancy. Pregnant women who develop gallstones are closely monitored. If a gallstone blocks the gallbladder or causes an infection, surgery may be necessary. Would a D&C be performed if a mother is miscarrying at 37/38 weeks pregnancy? And if so, how soon before the patient is discharged?

Would a D&C be performed if a mother is miscarrying at 37/38 weeks pregnancy? And if so, how soon before the patient is discharged?

Term pregnancy: At that point, the pregnancy is full term and will be "stillborn." A sad situation and I feel for her. She will likely have her labor induced and deliver vaginally if possible. The length of stay in the hospital will be similar to one for a regular birth. This assumes the mother doesn't have a complication such as an infection. ...Read more

I'm 37 and just had my 2nd miscarriage in my 5 week of pregnancy. What could be causing my miscarriages?

Miscarriage: Miscarriages early in pregnancy are usually caused by an abnormal chromosomal complement in the fetus.
