You must have some kind of instability in the broken vertebrea.Clinical instability is manifested primarily by severe pain that does not improve or that worsens with time. Patients with clinical instability may require surgery. This information is corroborated radiographically by visualizing the deformity on plain radiographs and disruption of the interspinous ligaments on MRIs.

Brace and Rest

Compression_fracture
Generally at your age unless you are on high dose steroid for any reason, you will most likely heal from these fractures quickly. If the pain persists longer than 1 month I would consider an evaluation from a spine specialist to discuss your options.

What core excersises are best to do when you have a compression fracture in your thoracic level 8 vertebra?

Weight bearing

Compression_fracture
Wait til the acute pain has subsided. Any weight bearing exercise, such as walking, strengthens the bones. Be sure you have enough Vitamin D in your diet. ASk your doctor to check your vitamin D level. There is alot of variability in an individual's requirements for Vitamin D. An alkaline diet--lots of veggies--is also good for your bones.

Assuming you are healthy and a non-smoker that is a reasonable timeframe. Could take up to 6 weeks. Avoid high impact activities or heavy lifting.
