How long should someone take buspar (buspirone)? Do you need to get weaned off of it?Does abrupt discontinuation cause problems?

Talk to your doctor!: Talk to your doctor! the basic answer is that you should take Buspar (buspirone) as long as directed by your doctor. Do not stop it on your own. You will need to get instructions on how to stop taking it. Originally Buspar (buspirone) was not thought to cause problems when it was taken for a short time. Bottom line, address your concerns w/your prescribing physician (and keep your family doc in loop if not same person). ...Read more

How do I wean off amytryptiline?

How do I wean off amytryptiline?

Amitriptyline: The proper way of weaning off depends upon the dose. If you are taking a full anti-depressant dose of Amitriptyline (200-300 mg), then reduce by 50 mg every week. If you are just using it either to sleep or for relief of nerve pain, cut down by 10 mg a week.
