Addiction: If you are trying to stop smoking tobacco, they may help you. If you are thinking of taking up e-cigs as a non-smoker, you are VERY ill-advised. You're asking to become a slave to the most potent of all addictions. The cancer risk is probably real though not really so high. Nicotine: The e-cigarette still contain nicotine but not the tar. The side effects of nicotine that include vasoconstriction, and high bp, atherosclerotic effect, osteoporotic effect, gastritis and ulcer development, are still going to be there. In short, e-cigarette is used to wean down smoking to zero but not a permanent substitute for smoking, it still will be addicting. ...Read more
