Pinched nerve?: There are many things that can present this way. Part of the differential is a cervical radiculopathy or radiculitis (this is when nerves in your neck become pinched or irritated). If your symptoms persist or worsen (such as weakness), seek medical attention. Commonly (if this is what you do have.), a trial of physical therapy is very successful, but occasionally, surgery may be needed.

Muscular Pain?: Hi, your recent onset of symptoms and your age suggest that at this point the most likely diagnosis is that you have a shoulder/upper back/neck strain. You don't describe radicular symptoms that would suggest a neurologic etiology. Initial treatment after an H&P and imaging usually starts with NSAIDs and maybe a muscle relaxer and also some therapy exercises to see if your symptoms will get better

Sharp pain in my left shoulder blade. Neck pain radiates behind my ear. Shoulder pain and soreness. And little arm soreness as well. Pinched nerve?

Sharp pain in my left shoulder blade. Neck pain radiates behind my ear. Shoulder pain and soreness. And little arm soreness as well. Pinched nerve?

Discuss with MD: You have a lot going on for your age, please discuss this with your doctor, you may warrant some further testing. This is not a good forum for this question as we can not diagnose "pinched nerve" without examination and testing. Your doctor may order a nerve conduction test coupled with an emg, or an MRI if they have not done so already. Discuss with your doctor.

Ask: Ask your new doctor if you still need to be on it. If it is really just for water retention and not for high blood pressure, then you could most likely be weaned off it without any problem. When people are treated with diuretics for swelling, it can be difficult to get off your medication without the swelling coming back. You might want to see an herbalist. Exercise can be very helpful too.

I'm a teenager and have big eyes. But my eyes are getting smaller and puffy. Its not water retention. It is ptosis. Is there any cure for that? I want my big eyes back.

Time for a visit: If you were not born with ptosis, it is time to have it evaluated. There are treatable conditions where this can occur & the more time you ignore it the harder it may be to treat.

How to cure water retention? Have had this problem for 3 years now.

How to cure water retention? Have had this problem for 3 years now.

Water retention: There are many causes of soft tissue swelling; some serious, others perfectly normal. Hormone changes during the menstrual cycle, dietary salt intake, kidney function, heart function, and the function of veins and lymphatics all can be involved. To figure out the right management, first a doctor will want to take a detailed history to understand which causes need attention.

Are electrolytes similar to salts and cause water retention?

Yes: Electrolytes are the collective name for sodium, potassium, chloride, etc. -- the chemicals that make up the liquid part of blood. Too much of one particular electrolyte -- sodium -- one component of nacl, or salt -- can cause swelling. Most energy drinks have "some" electrolytes in them, and drinking too much of them can contribute to swelling.

Plse teach me how to reduce my water retention. I'm healthy except for thyroids?

Salt restriction: Water retention is actually usually caused by sodium retention. That easiest way to reduce water retention is to reduce the amount of sodium intake. The recommended amount of sodium on a low sodium diet is 2000 mg per day. Most food items will have the sodium in milligrams label on them.
