Doctor insights on:
Water Head Baby Syndrome
Infant had water pour out her nose while pushing to defecate. Np says lungs sound clear but I am still concerned. She's been extremely tired and moody?
Is it safe to use Benzethonium Chloride (such as Wet Ones wipe) on 1-month old infant boy's face? He got acne and Dr suggested Antibacterial soap, but it was hard to apply. I am thinking of using just water and then wipe with Wet One without rinse.
By the date of this post about a week has gone by. I hope you and baby are well.
I am responding to this question so anyone with a similar situation can benefit.
If you are pregnant and your water breaks go to the hospital immediately or call 911 if you need assistance.
If your water breaks and you feel fetal parts, call 911 immediately, and call for help from anyone that can come to your aid quickly. A 911 operator can talk to whoever is with you or they can talk to you if you are alone. They will give you step by step instructions until the paramedics arrive.
Take good care. ...Read more

My 8mo baby takes a bath sitting, and when i rinse, i pour water from her head. Is it fine? Wont the water get inside her ears?
Won't hurt...: If you are concerned, you should help minimize getting water in her ear by shielding it and pouring the water more on that side of her head, and then do the same thing on the opposite side of her head protecting her other ear. Even if she gets some water in her ear, it will eventually drain out and dry. ...Read more

Can you tell me how much water should a 2 year old baby drink in a day in order to have a clear skin ?
I have not seen: A relationship with drinking water to clearing of skin. A 2 year old should drink 24-32 ounces of milk a day. Then if they are still thirsty, up to 6 ounces of juice or sweetened drinks. Then if they are still thirsty, plain water. They should drink enough to stay hydrated. That is usually determined by at least 2-3 urine voids a day. ...Read more

My 2yr old nephew kissed my 7wk old baby on the cheek. It was just a peck but it worries me about germs. Will she be ok?I wiped her down after wiv water
She will be fine: Babies are supplied with enough antibodies from their mothers during pregnancy, enough for the for the first 6 months of their lives until their own immune system matures and starts to produce on its own, also their immune systems are active from day one to combat infection, so unless your doctors want your baby isolated for a reason, don't worry and enjoy your baby ...Read more
Hard to say: This could be drooling, but without more information, I can't say at this age. It would be a god idea to sit down with a pediatrician and talk about when this started, what if anything, makes it better or worse, and if there are any other symptoms associated with this liquid coming from the mouth - sore throat , difficulty breathing, fever; this is an unusual finding in a child this age, see an MD ...Read more
My child was hit in the eye with the water from garden hose at full blast. What to do for his eye?
Likely no harm: The water itself is not harmful. Depending on the force of the stream, some damage from the blunt trauma may have occurred. If the child is old enough to assess his vision, you can check that he sees the same clarity from one eye to the other, and look for any redness of the white of the eye, or hiding of the colored part of his eye. If any doubt that the affected eye is normal, see an eye md asap. ...Read more
Is eyebrex eye drops safe for my 2 and half months baby..as water and sometimes thick discharge is coming. ..
My child attended a water park on yesterday and now her eye is heavily irritated to the point where she doesn't want to open the eye.
2month baby.Sneezes several times during the day. Sometimes sneezes consecutively 2, 3 times. No running nose except crying water from 1side nose.Cold?
Normal: Babies that age can only breathe through their noses so this behavior is normal to keep breathing. It is not a cold or anything else. Do not worry. If the nose is clogged only do one side at a time, but put a few drops of saline, you might try baby ayr, into the nostril and place a bulb syringe for a baby all the way into the nostril, collapsed at first the uncollapse and withdraw. ...Read more

Baby accidentally burn by hot hair straightener, he developed small water filled boil on fingers, n now those boil rupture how to treat them?
Keep Clean: Keep the fingers clean to prevent infection. If painful, you may place a cool rag on them, but do not soak them too long as this may lead to skin breakdown and infection. Monitor them closely; any signs of worsening redness or drainage may indicate infection. If this happens--or anything else concerning--please have your child evaluated by their pediatrician. ...Read more
I have an extremely hypersensitive scalp. Every shampoo I use is extremely irritating, even baby shampoo. Can i just wash my hair with plain water?
Yes, but....: Sure, you can use just plain water. However, this would really be more of a rinse than a wash. There is a brand called vanicream that makes things specifically for sensitive skin. They make a shampoo and conditioner that some of my patients really like. It might be worth a try. Otherwise, seeing a dermatologist might be necessary to help find out a cause. ...Read more
