Water Dripping From Nose
MY nose is dripping s clesr substsnce that tastes like tears and has the consistancy of water. What is this?
Allergy/sinuses: If you have had a head injury recently then this could be a serious problem and you need to be seen right away. If you have not had a head injury then it is likely to be allergic rhinitis or chronic sinusitis. You could try a nonsedating anti-histamine like loratadine and nasal saline solution to try and clear up the drainage. If this does not work then see your doctor for further evaluation. ...Read more

Can I take benadryl (diphenhydramine) if I already took Allegra earlier? It hasn't touched my sinuses. My nose is dripping, eyes watering, and im miserable but hesitant
Benadryl (diphenhydramine) with Allegr: You can take Benadryl (diphenhydramine) though it will increase the dryness of the mouth. If Allegra is not working for you you can ask your MD if you can take Zyrtec or perhaps use a nasal antihistamine with or without a nasal steroid. Finding what is best for each patient is trial and error. Work with your MD. Zyrtec is over the counter. Fixing the drippy nose usually causes eye irritation to resolve as well. ...Read more

Persistant rhinorrhea can be an allergy or a condition called vast motor rhinitis, where watery mucus is produced on expusure to hot or cold etc (think runny nose when you eat something spicy) if is watery, usually means one of these things. In very rare situations, it could be leakage of spinal fluid from the base of the brain. ...Read more
See an ENT: It could be nothing but clear fluid coming from the nose (rarely) can be leaking spinal fluid. If you have enough coming out, I would get a sealable small clean dry and catch as many drops as you can so they can run a beta-2-transferrin test on it. You will need about 1/2 a teaspoon worth of fluid to test it. Of course it could just be allergies or a cold! ...Read more

I've tipped my head over twice and water radomly fell out of my nose why do I think that happend?
Probably rhinitis: Probably rhinitis. You nose makes mucous and when the turbinate is stimulated it will secrete. Bending over can stimulate the nose and thus mucous can result. In rare cases other fluids can come out. Tears from the eye drain into the nose, in super rare cases small openings from the brain cavity into the nose can lead to brain fluid leaking out the nose. If the fluid is very salty see an ent. ...Read more
