I have a spot on the palm of my hand. At first I thought it could be a bite/wart but it looks full of yellow puss. What is it and how can I get rid?
Small infection: Maybe you got poked by something? Maybe with a little splinter underneath the skin? If have multiple on palms as well as other areas of skin, call doc for eval asap as it could mean systemic illness such as gonorrhea etc. If just only one, get a clean needle, clean area with rubbing alcohol and lancet/open it to allow draining of the puss. Then keep clean, dry should do it. Consult doc. Good luck. ...Read more

I just noticed a few warts on my palms. Can these transfer to other parts of my body? Would warts on hands be the same strain as genital HPV?
No: HPV is a common virus in nature and has dozens of strains that effect humans, The strains are like families & each has a preferred tissue where it lives/is found. Doctors: Doctors are typically under contract to provide services at a set cost so it is difficult to tell you cost. My guess it would be $200 dollars or so and might take more than one visit to treat them. I would call and ask your local dermatologist. Liquid nitrogen therapy in the office can be very helpful. Otc options aren't usually all that effective unfortunately. Perhaps consider filing each night, applying an otc salicylic acid, and then occluding with duct tape. That can help in some cases and might be worth a try. ...Read more
