Wart Or Callus
Callus is a noun meaning a localized thickening of the skin, and a verb meaning to form that skin thickening (especially on the palm of a hand or the sole of a foot, caused by repeated pressure or friction). Callous has a meaning related to callus, but callous is not used to describe skin. As an adjective, it means toughened or unfeeling. As a verb, it means to make or ...Read more

Can a gential wart texturally change from a raised bumpy wart to Verrucae wart in appearance after TCA acid treatment?
Wart topical therapy: Sure - you're basically trying to destroy the thing with a chemical compound, so I would expect some morphological changes. What exactly that's going to look like on it's way to final destruction depends on the starting size, how much treatment you give it etc. The thing about warts is they 'hide' from the immune system, so they can be somewhat persistent. Sounds like you're making progress tho. ...Read more
Several treatments.: You can try over the counter wart removers, but be careful: i've seen them do more harm than good. Other options your doctor might offer include cryotherapy (freezing the wart), electrocautery (burning the wart), laser treatment, or several different topical chemical treatments. If the treatment is typically uncomfortable, your doctor can numb the area before proceeding. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
See a Physician: Corns are on the top or sides of toes. They are caused by an enlargement of bone rubbing against the skin causing a thickining of the skin. A wart is a round lesion caused by a virus. They are elevated on toes, and under the skin on the bottom or the foot. Warts have small black dots called papelli. If you cut down a wart you will get pin point bleeding as warts have their own blood supply. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers

Beware: I would strongly encouraged you to avoid over the counter wart removers, whether it be salicylic acid based or cold based when addressing genital warts. That area is quite sensitive and is best addressed by your primary care doctor or dermatologists. Remember you can do more harm than good trying to treat these at home. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Genital Warts: Warts are contagious. The virus is easily spread by physical contact or even contact with sheets or towels. However, transmitting common warts from the hands to the genitals isn't likely at all since genital warts are a different strain from other warts, and transmitting genital warts to the hands is just as unlikely. All warts should be treated to avoid transmission, especially genital warts. ...Read more

What's the difference between a wart and a wart scar. Not sure if I have warts or scars from warts. ?
Post op: A surgical shoe at the very least. A cast would depend on what type of surgical procedure you are having done on the bunion. It depends on surgeon preference. I would also imagine crutches if plantar warts are being removed to off-load the bottom of the foot. Good luck. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
Quite broad question: All the conditions you are asking about can be examined by a podiatrist. The cause of each and the appropriate treatment is not the same for all. Warts are viruses resulting in a skin lesion. Calluses/corns are your skin's way of protecting itself from pressure. Blisters are breaks/peels in the skin resulting from friction but can be the result of internal injury/inflammation. Get checked. ...Read more
I have recently found that I may have plantar warts. I have had these for months now but assumed it was a callus. Is there any way to rid myself of it?
Duct tape: There is actually good experience with covering the lesions with a strip of duct tape. Leave it on until is either gets messy or falls off, and then reapply another piece. This might take 6 weeks or so but you can gauge the effect at each change. Hopefully this will do the trick for you. ...Read more

Wart Treatments: Yes. It can spread. Here are some otc treatments. 1. Salicylic acid. This is most effective against plantar warts (warts on the soles of the feet). One should use the strongest (highest %) of salicylic acid possible. 2. Cryosurgery. There are now home treatment freezing units and should be used with extreme care. 3. Duct tape. No better than placebo, but works for 20% ...Read more

Can verrumal (fluorouracil, salicylic acid n dimethylsulphoxide) be used to treat calluses n corns besides warts?
Not effective.: Warts are caused by a virus that lives in the deeper part of the skin. Corns and calluses are a reaction of the skin to mechanical irritation, whether a pinpoint compression over a bony prominence for a corn, or excessive friction for a callus. Therefore the sal acid may burn the skin where a callus is, but the effect is temporary at best. ...Read more

Comparison to fordyce spots/warts/herpes: fordyce spots occur in larger numbers (50-100's) whereas herpes/warts are fewer in number? Is this correct?
Partly: It varies. Fordyce spots are visible sebaceous(sweat)glands that are a normal variant. They appear as rice sized tiny papules raised above the surface of the skin. Typically they are very numerous on the scrotum and vulva and less so on the penile shaft. When few in number they can be confused with HPV or warts.
