Don't understand?: Were you hoping to have hangovers?? If not, exercise away. However, most people don't find being intoxicated goes along well with exercise, and alcohol may reduce muscle strength. If you are drinking regularly and routinely getting hangovers, you are drinking too much. You need to consider cutting down and perhaps discussing your drinking with a counselor. Sounds like its a problem to me. ...Read more

No contraindication: Barley tea has been used to treat hangover, but like most hangover cures, there is little objective scientific evidence to prove this. Better to not drink so much that you GET hangovers, because it also means you are drinking enough to cause other problems, not the least of which is developing alcohol abuse/dependence, as well as liver, heart, stomach, pancreas etc. Hydration, vitamins, rest best ...Read more
I've thrown up over 30 times during a really awful hangover. I don't know what to do to remedy it at home, but I also am unable to go to the hospital.
Call an ambulance:
If you can't go to the hospital call an ambulance. Alcohol is life threatening if you drink a lot. It can cause gastritis (stomach inflammation) resulting in vomiting. Drink fluids. Gatorade or similar is best to replenish lost fluids. If you cannot, you should go to the hospital.
If you can take fluids and get better, I recommend you stop drinking! ...Read more

During a hangover I, started to have these episodes that made me shiver. I'm not cold and I don't know what the cause is for this shaking.
Dehydration: It is difficult to recommend a best cure for a hangover as many have been suggested and none have proven best. Hangovers can cause multitude symptoms (on your GI tract as well as neurologic). The causes are not just the alcohol, but the alcohol byproducts and the body changes that these produce. Other congeners add to the damage. Main rule is not to drink to the point of getting drunk. Cheers ...Read more
I have hoarseness and cannot talk at times after vomiting during a hangover. It's been over 24 hours, how much longer should I wait to see a doctor?
Soon: At 21 its is bad to have such an alcohol problem that you are hung over vomiting frequently enough to worry about it and to irritate you vocal cords. Its likely your acid from the vomit is and inflaming the cords which isn't healthy in the long term. Get checked and start a plan to moderate you consumption ...Read more
Waking every 3 hours needing to eat (milk or yogurt). Am I not eating enough during the day? What can I eat before bed that will last longer?
My 10wk baby drinks abt 110ml milk during night hrs but have 60ml in daytime. Is this ok? It is summer here. Is this because of excess heat? Please
Not enough?: I think you should make an appointment for a weight check with your pediatrician. Babies usually take approximately 2-3 ounces with each feeding every 3-4 hours. Usually a baby requires about 2 ounces per pound in order to gain weight appropriately. It would be a good idea to see your baby's doctor. ...Read more
Hello drs. My daughter's age is two yrs and ten months, how many oz of milk she has to drink during a day?
Limit her intake:: 16 to 24 ounce in a day. Milk is low in iron, and when kids drink too much of it they don't eat enough of other iron rich foods. Milk also decreases the absorption of iron into the blood stream and can also irritate the intestinal lining causing small amounts of bleeding and the gradual loss of iron in the stool. This can lead to iron deficiency anemia. ...Read more
Is it normal for a non nursing woman to excrete a milk like substance during sex? Have not nursed over 30 years somwtimes juat a little, others lots
Breast exam time: This may be normal but it could be a sign of something going on in your ductal system within the breast. Monthly breast self checks and yearly breast examination by your doctor are an important part of breast cancer screening. I recommend an appointment with your doctor to have this evaluated. ...Read more
Baby is 1 week old & reached birth wt of 7 lbs 14oz. Milk production established. Start on demand feeding? Should wake at all during night or day?
Yes: With your breast milk in and weight back up to birth weight, you have the luxury of opting for a more on demand feeding regimen if things continue to be as successful as you describe. If you become engorged, you may want to wake your infant up to let down the supply (or you could pump-express and save too). Congrats on your achievements! ...Read more
A 30 days old child, each time after feeding she sleeps and during her sleep she throw out some milk but sometimes she chokes with them. Any solution?
Can check to determine if she is having reflux. That is when the ability to move formula through the stomach and on is slow or there is a tendency for it to come back up into the esophagus from the stomach. Choking can occur when the refluxed formula enters the upper airway. You should bring her to her doctor to have her checked and if this is the case her doctor will recommend actions to limit the reflux of milk. These may include thickening her formula if she is bottle fed, giving an antacid, having her in an upright position after feeding for a period of time and possibly changing her formula if it is determined that she is having an intolerance to it. Is this okay for a 1 month old to do? My baby was born 6lbs 2oz and 19in long. He's now one month and since like two weeks back he's been eating 4oz of formula milk every 2hours and a half-3hours during the day. At night time it weird, like yeaterday I fini
Don't: Don't wake him up! Thank your lucky stars that he's a good sleeper and let him sleep through the night! Unless he has a genetic disorder that requires him to eat every few hours (and you would know this because it is part of the newborn screen), it is fine to let him sleep throughout the night - even 8 hours if he'll do it. He may want to eat more during the day if he's sleeping more at night, so if he's draining that 4 oz bottle, you may want to offer 5 or 6 oz. He'll let you know when he's hungry. Congratulations on your baby! ...Read more
After childbirth: In the latter part of pregnancy, the woman's breasts make colostrum, a thick, yellowish fluid. At this stage, high levels of Progesterone inhibit milk production. At birth, prolactin levels remain high, while the delivery of the placenta results in a drop in progesterone, estrogen, and hpl levels. This abrupt withdrawal of Progesterone & presence of high prolactin levels stimulate milk production. ...Read more

If I eat biscuit and sausage gravy, 2 eggs, whole milk, will I be ok if I work it off during the day?
What ages to newborns/babies have growth spurts? When should I be expecting her to nurse more often and will I make more milk during this time?
Growth Spurts: There are no specific exact times. Babies go through their growth spurts, they cry to nurse more frequently and yes, your body meets their demands by producing more milk. Let nature do her work and you will notice she will send your body clues as she needs more nutrition. :) ...Read more
My wife spoon feeds milk to our 15 months baby during night when he is asleep. Is it safe? Also she feeds him every 4 hours be its day or night, safe?
Potentially harmful: Potential harms are development of dental caries with night feeds and obesity from overfeeding. A neurotypical child that age can both finger-feed himself & use a spoon, spilling little. Not allowing him to do so hampers development of independent self-help skills. First you & your wife together need to hear what his pede has to say. Try to state the problem without shame or blame. ...Read more
My working wife finds it difficult to feed our 5 mo baby during weekends. Is there any way she can increase her milk supply (prefrbly home remedies).?
Pump regularly: Milk is produced based on demand. If she's only nursing on the weekends, then she's not going to make enough and will, in fact, start to dry up. She should be pumping on a regular schedule during the week to keep her supply up. This milk can also be stored and fed to the baby in bottles, which is better than formula in most cases. ...Read more
My newborn screams during bf, then latches again to feed for a few minutes then screams again. Milk supply is very good. New prob started 2 nights ago?
Review your recent: Diet for gas-producing, allergenic or strongly-flavored foods or new medications. Crying causes air-swallowing & gas cramps in infants. Burp her if the crying starts with feeds. Ask your hospital's nursery nurses or a lactation consultant to teach you the " colic carry, " a secure hold for tilting her bottom up to help her expel gas, as intestinal smooth muscle doesn't function perfectly yet. ...Read more
