Not clear : there are many structures in your abdomen that we have to consider more.. It could be your gallbladder, it could be your pancreas and could be stomach, could be the duodenum, it could be many of these structures. Need to see a gastroenterologist and clarify these issues. Muscle pain can be a cause of abdominal pain but that has to be evaluated. You can discuss this with your physician and a gastr ...Read more

Cut down on eating: Best way to lose weight is to eat less and keep going down steadily and you will see your weight come down slowly. But you have to persist with this effort for a long time. It is not a short term thing. Continue to increase walking and stay active all day. Then you will see the results in one or two months. Also record and write down your weight every week, so you can see the progress you are maki. ...Read more

Change her diet: The most important part of weight management is developing healthy eating habits. The stop light diet is a good start. Kids have the advantage of still growing so sometimes maintaining their weight as they grow is sufficient. If you are able use water aerobics, swimming or water therapy to start her on an exercise routine that's suitable for her abilities. Be a good example for your daughter. ...Read more

I am 38f obese. Wt285. Fatty liver with borderline heptomegly. I am losing 4 lbs a wk. I am dieting and walking how do I slow it down?

You are right: Ideally when losing weight with fatty liver disease you want to avoid excessively fast weight loss - there is evidence to keep weight loss at a rate less than 3.5lbs/week; as too rapid weight loss can make things worse. This means you may need to back off a bit on your caloric restriction and/ or be mindful of the vigorousness of your exercise. Though it sounds like you are making great strides. ...Read more

I'm 26 yr old female and i'm obese and a smoker and recently I have noticed i lose my breath furequently when walking or even just talking to much?

Needs evaluation: Impossible to say just from your symptoms. At 26, unless you are a very heavy smoker, have been smoking for a very long time, or have unusual sensitivity, it would be uncommon to have significant lung problems, but it is possible. Something else may be causing it as well. Only a health care provider, taking a history and doing an examination, plus getting necessary tests, can give you answers. ...Read more

Weight loss: No you are not losing it too fast! 2-3 ibs a week is recommended rate of weight loss! however after losing 10-12 ibs, stabilize yourself to maintaing that weight for next two mnths at least. I have knee pain from obesity. So i start to exercising at the gym. But when i run or walk, i feel knee pain, so it's a dilemma. How to exercise?

Alternatives: Consider some alternatives like riding a stationary bicycle, using an elliptical, or even better swimming. As the pain you may be feeling could very well be related to weight bearing forces at your knee. The exercises mentioned above help limiting the forces on the knee. I have lost 55 lbs since march because i found out I have a fatty liver from obesity. My question is it possible to lose weight without exercise? I started new job and haven't been able to walk in several days

Break up exercise: To help lose weight, you still need 150minutes per week of exercise. You can break up this time as 15 minute intervals (everyone can do that) to help accomplish this goal. I usually recommend about 1200cal/day with one 500cal meal at night and three 200cal snacks for the day. Drink alot of water (0.5oz per pound you weigh) to help with the positive results. ...Read more

activity-walking into a store in there about five minutes walking out, I was feeling very tired. ?

Needs evaluation: This could be any number of things - and should be properly evaluated by a doctor with questioning (history), physical exam, labs and studies. The list of possible diseases is long, but hopefully as you point out relatively mild in presentation. If you can't get an appointment with your primary doctor right away, you might want to connect with a Health Tap doc here for a virtual consult. ...Read more

I am an obese person, i get burning rashes between the legs due to friction when i walk more. It continues paining. Kindly suggest anasthatic cream.

Zinc oxide: An anesthetic cream is not the answer. You have to treat the problem. The best remedy is obviously to try to lose some weight but i'm sure you are doing this. Try to rub zinc oxide paste on the part of the thighs that are rubbing. This is a great skin lubricant that will stay on your skin and continue to help all day. When the rash is bad, try rubbing 1% Hydrocortisone cream under the zinc. ...Read more

Exercise: It appears that all of your cardiac tests are normal, and that is very good. I do not see that you listed any lung evaluations, such as pulmonary function tests. This is a suggestion if you continue to have air hunger, as PFT can diagnose asthma or other lung conditions. This may be a matter of being out of shape because of your being overweight. See your doctor for an individualized exercise RX ...Read more

Unable to walk for over one year since stopping lorazapam?

Unable to walk for over one year since stopping lorazapam?

WHY?: Lorazapam is used to treat stress mainly, so it is odd you can not walk without it. Seek the help of your dr. as there should be some meds that can help you like muscle relaxants that can create the same "relaxing" properties you were probably getting from the lorazapam. Good luck. ...Read more

Trying for a baby since 1 year. Is it because am obese I can't conceive?

It is possible: It is known that obesity can contribute to infertility. As well known how it can affect women's ability to ovulate normally, but obesity also seems to have a more complex effect leading to infertility in women who even ovulate normally. You should seek the input of a health care provider in person, so that further testing may be considered and/or undertaken to address your concerns. Good luck. ...Read more

Pls help my 1 year old doesnt like standing..she eants to be carried and crawl..im worried she might not learn to walk?

The normal age for: walking is between 9 months and 18 months. Can she bear weight standing even if she doesn't like it? Does she crawl normally? It is important that she is able to have enough "floor" time to learn how to stand and walk. Please have her checked by her pediatrician to make sure her hips and legs are OK and discuss her development with her doctor. ...Read more
