Wake Up Feeling Refreshed
Tiredness no energy depressed all I do is sleep how can I wake up feeling refreshed and stop sleeping during the day?
I sleep 18+a day and have for the past 10 years.never wake feeling refreshed.have nightmares even if only been sleep 30mins.cant get taken seriously?
Lately i've been waking up not feeling refreshed. Also been having broken sleep where i'll wake up briefly. What could be happening? Zoloft (sertraline) be cause?
The past 4 days when i went to bed late and woke up 4 hours later feeling refreshed i'd stay awake. Later on in the day i'm very tired so i went to bed early. 5 hours of sleep, refreshed, but in dark.
Question??: Not really sure the question but what i can tell you is that most people, particularly below age 40 can get by with 4-6 hours of sleep fine short term and even feel refreshed. The time of day can be all over as well. This doesn't last. Day 3-5 catch up and sleep overwhelms. Hope this helps. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

How many years could be cut off my life? I never feel refreshed when i wake up and i skip breakfast
Probably none: You should see a doctor to assess why you never feel refreshed on waking- you might have sleep apnea, hypothyroidism etc, but the things that cause this generally do not "cut years off" your life. While many doctors advise eating a healthy breakfast, you should not eat if you aren't hungry and there is no evidence that skipping breakfast shortens your life! ...Read more
Why do I wake in the night and crave sugar? I'm not a diabetic. I do wake a lot during the night & never feel refreshed upon waking. Thank you.
If you are: Overweight, you probably have developed Insulin resistance, and what you are experiencing may be a return of your blood sugar to normal after excessive Insulin levels. If so, ; you have a family history of diabetes, get instructed on a diet, exercise and weight loss program. Check w/your doctor -- metformin may help prevent progression to true diabetes. It's a progression, not a sudden diagnosis. ...Read more

I bet you are right: I'm glad you've discovered this. Too many well-intentioned young people go on restrictive diets based on bad information. Your self-restriction may also have deprived you of other nutrients, including iodine and b12. Keep doing what you're doing and consider a cheap vitamin-and-mineral supplement. The rest of your health issues may also improve with your diet & some good exercise. ...Read more
5 hrs sleep= easy to wake but not refreshed. 7+= headaches, oversleeping, coma like. Worse with Trileptal (for bipolar). Blood sugar crashing @ night?
Blood sugar: Possible. One quick way to tell - don't eat any refined carbs (bread, regular potatoes, etc.) for dinner. At bedtime, have a snack of some celery and peanut butter. The peanut butter "burns slowly" in your body. If you feel better in the A.M. - that was it! you should also have a fasting Insulin checked in the A.M. To see if you are "hyperinsulinemic." that could mimic what you describe. ...Read more

Time & sleeping: Time zone changes effect travelers because of adjusting to a different time for waking, sleeping, working If you sleep 8 hours (480 minutes, you sleep 480 minutes, even though the time zone changes & it appears to be less).
